i think that a deer got one of my plans. now i kinda trimed down the stem to the point almost where i was doing the "pinch" thing to split the grow tips. Anyone know if my little plant can recover? It only had 3 "layers" of leaves and i had to do the pinch thing down at the first growth leaves. On the other hand my other plant is growing like a weed, pun intended. any thoughts would be awesome.
hi rec if your plant has green leaves it will recover...it may be alright anyway..... some of the ways you can keep deer away is you can tie fishing line around the bushes or whatever around your plants....or you can piss on the ground near your plant ...not too near but around about the place....that should keep em away for a bit..... good luck....
do deer really eat plants? because... i have a ton of deer in the preserve which is my backyard. that cant be good.
thanks for the info, and yes deer do eat plants. i did some more homework and learned that i can use bars of soap chopped up and spread around plants to keep away and deer repellent is available. but jsut for more security i'll probbaly take a piss around them next time too. haha
you can also go to a local hunting supply store and buy some bear attract/cyote attract scents, they have been known to repell even the most stubborn deer , but there still is the chance that its going to attract a bear lol I would get some chicken wire, fence it up all around, buy some camo color paints, and paint the chiocken wire so u cant see it. the shavings of soap seems to work great, disolves the soap after a rain but they can still smell it for a long time. Goodluck
Hey recreational, I use Irish Spring Soap. I take a knife and whittle off slices all around my plots. I also use moth balls and dog hair that I get after groming my pets. Deer stay away with all that smell. The soap last for a long time. It just melts a little every time it rains. Good luck with the grow. I.B.Token
