Decriminalizing Marijuana in South Carolina

  1. I mean really...what don't we get moving folks???
It's something everybody wants but something nobody wants to talk about. Yes, I know a lot of places in South Carolina still consider themselves part of the bible belt and they would oppose such nonsense, but the state has made it very clear that they only want to be represented by the parts of the state where the Palmetto Tree (and Cannabis) grows natively. Coincidently, those are the places with this highest (lol) concentration of marijuana usage and would prefer to have it decriminalized. Yet, nobody wants to bring up the subject. What can we do to get this thing moving? Really.

  2. I feel ya bro, I'm in sc too. But I am pretty sure that is a long ways away from happening here. Bible thumpers around every corner ya know

  3. yeah it'll be a long way for any place in the south... even florida is gunna have some trouble with that

id suggest going to norml.com though and look up your local chapter or whatever cause there are people fighting for decrim and medicinal props in all states im pretty sure

i was surprised to see on norml people in GA doing this already.

and I think what they will initially suggest to you is to write your local DA or whatever about medical marjuana

the more they get the better

  4. I'm just curious, why is North Carolina the only Southern state to decriminalize?

  6. cause its "NORTH" Carolina, they are the only ones that had a chance

haha, but forreal I dunno look it up on norml if nobody here answers you,

maybe they had a lot of people there requesting medicinal marijuana

because I'm not sure how many states but I know that even now in Georgia they do have medicinal marijuana and I guess only like really special patients get it

  7. i think people in south carolina are the stubborn "devil weed" kinda people. oh im hatin too. i've lived here my whole life and it sucks. i just started smoking about a week ago. looking forward to getting some more soon.

i have looked into SC mmj and pretty much this:

    South Carolina

"In 2007, Sen. William Mescher (R-Berkley Co.) introduced S. 220, a compassionate bill that would allow patients with cancer, multiple sclerosis, severe pain, and other serious illnesses to use marijuana with their doctors' approvals. Sen. Mescher seemed like an unlikely sponsor of medical marijuana to many people. However, his sponsorship demonstrates the fact that treating suffering is not a partisan issue.

Sen. Mescher's first wife died of lung cancer. Her doctor said that medical marijuana might be able to help relieve her pain and suffering and allow her to enjoy the end of her life. Sen. Mescher realized that South Carolina's policy of criminalizing the seriously ill is cruel and needs to be changed.

Sadly, Sen. Mescher died of a stroke on April 8, 2007. None of his colleagues in the Senate were willing to carry the bill and it died in the Senate Committee on Medical Affairs without any additional hearings."

in short, people need to grow some balls, carry the bill, make us happy.

  8. too many bible-thumpers,,, in that area,,,,

you'd get the big towns vote,,, but all the little towns would kill the bill<--------

  9. bible thumpers aren't a total problem.. just ignorant, stubborn people who believe weed is bad and "there ain't no questionin it."

  10. colorado is about to LEGALIZE it....
