Hopefully this is step one. I wonder how crazy they will go enforcing this new penalty? Edit to ask what’s this going to look like for growing? I wonder if they step it up on growers or relax some.
Virginia is retiring all k9 units trained to smell pot...or giving them to other states that still enforce nutty cannabis laws
Keep in mind a major thing happened that I havent seen talked about on this thread. There was a study tied to a legalization bill to study legalization for Virginia. Originally set a deadline to November 2020, it was postponed to 2021 later. Great news is, they went out of their way to vote out the delay and instead look at it by the original November 2020. This makes me very hopeful personally as I see this as an openness to legalize. Many of the supporters of this decrim bill explicitly said they realize this is not a permanent solution and just something temporary while they work out legalization. Now I'm gonna be cautiously optimistic, but I'm very hopeful by 2021 VA will legalize rec. Maybe 2022. But heres to hoping 2021, no delay just like they didnt delay the study!
