Deciding on the best intake/exhaust locations

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Russellsweed, Apr 11, 2016.

  1. Hi all.

I have been a member on here for years and was asking advice for a grow a while back. Anyway...

I have a new house now and will be growing in a DR/DS60 tent. Only 3 plants. My question is...

Would it be possible to exhaust into the airing cupboard where my hot water cylinder is? It is already hot in there so i cant see it being a problem.

Another option is drilling through the ceiling and ducting over towards the eaves where my bathroom extraction fan leads to.

I know some people vent into other rooms but i dont want an unusually humid room (I am being as stealthy as possible) Others also vento into the loft but again, I didnt want humidity to start causing damp issues over time.

    Any comments are welcome.
    Thanks.

  2. Personally I vent out a nearby window.

If your main concern is humidity/heat and venting into an adjacent room is your only (or easiest) option then I'd just vent into the room and buy some extra fans to move the air around in the room to conceal the heat. Dehumidifier can help if you find it becomes noticeably humid. Over time the smell should be a big concern in which case you'll want to look into carbon filters or scrubbers that fit into your venting. Plan ahead for this too.
