Please vote for 2 of the 4......... I would love to hear smoke reports if people have experience w/ any of these. Looking to get some feedback before I dedicate the next 3 months to 2 new strains. 1. Barney's Farm Vanilla Kush 2. Reserva Privada Headband 3. DNA Sharksbreath 4. DNA Cataract Kush Thanks!!
I smoked vanilla kush yesterday, actually right now too. I know the seed costs 37 euro for 5 fem. Inexpensive for a recent cup winner! I would love to grow this or LSD by BF. Effect is nice, it's a creeper, heavy stone, and happy feeling. I like the taste and smell too. Vanilla flavor, sticky, moist, and dense. I give 9/10
i've been highly contemplating running a few Cataract Kush beans myself, that shit looks so beautiful. the vanilla kush is also another possibility, i did some GreatWhiteShark awhile back, and just due to personal experience, i will not be running any "shark" crosses, anytime soon.
I'm leaning towards the Cataract and Headband. Just talked to a few guy sthat grew out the Vanilla Kush and said it was a huge disappointment (maybe that's why the beans aren't all that expensive for a 2009 cup winner). SO what was the issue w/ the GWS?
like i said, this is only based off my personal experience, and i totally understand that there are good genetics of GWS out there. My GWS, however, looked like a 1.5-2 week old plant, at 30 days, looked like a 30day plant at 60days, and so-on and so-on, until i was frustrated to the point, that all but 2 (out of 10). where pulled from my op, before going into flower. They yielded horribly and the smoke report is not even worth reporting. All the other 6 strains i was running at the same time were very easy to grow, did what they were supposed to, and finished to be some really really good smoke. its pretty dissapointing when ALL of your freebie seeds TOTALLY out-perform the seeds you actually BOUGHT to get those freebies. Like i said, this is probably just bad luck, but its enough bad luck for me to look elsewhere besides GWS as a strain for me to grow again..
I have a Vanilla Kush right now bout 5 weeks into flowering and its prolly the stinkiest, most trichome covered plant Ive grown. The buds are solid and just crystal covered from head to toe. (Not that plants...have...toes....) So I dunno why your other buddies would say its a dissapointment? Maybe they grew a crappy pheno...or just didnt nuture it correctly. The only thing is the VK stretched like no other. Way taller than all my other plants. I can post a picture if youd really like. So my 2 to recommened would be the Vanilla Kush and the Sharsbreath, cuz Ive head good things about the sharksbreath.
Ya maybe the pheno was crap. I would love to see your pics if you get a chance! Have you ever smoked the VK?
Never smoked it, but I will soon enough! Heres a few, never mind the top of the girl. Like I said she stretched too much and got burnt! Other than that, solid buds, prolly not a great yielder but at least an oz from her prolly more. Crystal covered, pungent lavender smell. Quite happy with her. Last is just a group shot of all the hoes. All kinds of genetics in thurr...
i got a VK in the room roght now too...ill throw a pic up when the wifey gets home with the camera flipped last week and i have notice the stretch is pretty heavy....the VK is taller than the SSH now which suprised me...but in her defense....the SSH got all bushy and branchy after i revegged it which helps keep her shorter it seems havent burnt any but so far im likin what i see with the VK. my official vote will be sharksbreath tho....cuz that shit looks sick in the photo on the tude...sugary goodness everywhere!
thats why i voted it hopefully it wins and you'll grow it out and ill get to watch and decide if i should buy some beans or not. always had considered it....but chose other strains for various reasons
grow all 4 what the hell.i am growing several strains but favor the power skunk.its some great smoke.
I am trying to get down to growing only 2 strains at a time. More than 3 really poses too many potential issues since I am not that experienced yet.
