"decent" bubble bag set?

  1. So I'm getting a few weeks away from harvest, and Im turning my attention to the processing of my fan leaves into some good quality bubble hash :smoking:

The only problem is bubble bags vary so wildly in price I can't tell if buying a 200 dollar set will really make much of a difference compared to just buying a set of bags thats 100 or less. Does anyone have any personal experience with hash bubble bags to know whether or not the expensive ones make much of a difference??

This is the one Im looking at getting right now: Bubble bag from eBay

Also, does it really matter if I get the 4 bag system vs the 8 bagger? I read somewhere around here that it really doesn't matter, since you mostly need the last couple of bags anyway.

  2. I briefly considered swooping in and trying to take the one you're bidding on but then realized theres a whole bunch of em :D;)

I think Im gonna order one of those and see how it works. Can't beat just over 50 bucks shipped when some of the others cost 200+

  3. Let us know how they work out for you, inquiring minds want to know!

  4. Ended up buying one of these: Sprung Bags, Multi-Purpose Filter Bags

the guy that makes em is pretty well known on another forum, and from the results people posted it looks like it does a good job.

On an interesting note, the guy who makes the bag that I bought, bought and reviewed the one CreamyG big on (from BlackWater Hydro). He said they were of good quality.

  5. Mine shipped from Las Vegas a few days ago so I expect it soon. I will post a little review of it when they show up. I have enough trim to make a decent hash ball so I may even run it twice the 1st day! They were pushing me hard @ the local grow store to get the 3 bag real Bubble bags (5g) for $150 so I feel safe spending a 1/3. If it lasts through the year I'll be proud of it.

  6. hate to burst your bubble (hehe) but they ARE made in CHINA. They just ship from Vegas (mine shipped from China, though).

The stitching is nice on the set...but i wish the 220 mesh was stronger (it's kind of thin) and in retrospect the 10u bag is pretty worthless... nothing really after 25. I wish it had something between the 160 and 73 to clean up the 73. For $40 bucks whatever though, right? =)

  8. Use bubllebagdude on e-bay, best quality bags I've owned. I have gone through 2 sets and they last far longer than the original bubble bag brand bags.

  9. I put about 2 lbs of shake and small nugs through the BlackwaterHydro bags and here is what I have found. First of all the 10 mil bag is worthless because the canvas is not waterproof. The 25 mill bag works ok but you can't squeeze it at all to speed up the process because the canvas and stitching is not water proof......water resistant maybe.. but not waterproof. So you are limited to whatever mill the canvas and stitching are. Your product will end up in the canvas...which is bad. These bags have no handles or rings to attach handles.. also bad. I had the 5 gallon version and the company told me that they had never heard of anyone having problems with the canvas not being waterproof before so maybe I just got a bad set. I went and bought a 35 gal set locally and compared the canvas on both and the blackwater set just didnt seem to have any waterproof coating while the 35 gallon set did. I have since used the 35 gallon set and it works perfectly. The canvas doesnt leak at all. I asked the company for a refund and even though I purchased it from within the states they told me that I had to send it to canada and pay international shipping to get a refund. Shipping these to canada is 25 usd. Ultimately my advice is this. If you are going to play around at making product with these and just want to experiment.. maybe run a lb of garbage a year through then these are fine. If you intend on making any kind of quantity then go spend the money and save yourself hours of labor and wasted product. Hope this helps.

  10. Good to hear a review of these bags. Was on the fence myself about getting the eBay ones.

I actually recently got to use the set of Sprung Bags I bought a little over a month ago. The results were "okay", I think I fucked up cuz I stuck wayyy more fan leaves and stems in there than I was supposed to (I guess all you're supposed to use is the sugar leaf clippings? Maybe someone could clarify for me), will post pics of the hash thats still drying when I get home today.

All in all though, I'm happy with my purchase. The Vorsprung bags are well built, the stitching seems tough. The canvas doesn't leak/soak through. And of course, it makes hash :D

  11. Yes, stay away from Water leaves, not enough trichomes to make it worth it. I use fluffy nugs I dont want and trim leaves ground up. Better luck next time!

  12. I think if you want to use your fan leaves and stems, you could simmer them in an oil or butter, and use it for making yummy treats.

  13. yup this about sums it up. blackwater bags suck.
