It's not about what can you play or how fast you're playing it. You can be the worlds best guitarist but still write the crappiest songs ever. It's the songs that matter and it ain't easy to do an good rap song I mean there's only one or two parts in a song the parts have to be quite good and the way they make 'em isn't simple too. and I hate it when people claim that techno and etc. stuf ain't real music and it's only made by machines ot whatever, that's so untrue 'cos when you do music with computers etc. you have to do everything! drums bass melody FX structures EVERYTHING.....
Believe it or not, rap isnt the only form of music, and i use that term very loosely, that has vocalists. Most metal vocalists also play either bass or lead guitar, while also doing vocals. Go to a metal concert and then go to a rap concert, and you'll see the rappers obviously lack talent. Unless, of course, you think splicing music together using a drum machine and a program i can download off of winmx is making music, which...it isnt.
uh, when you make actual music you have to do EVERYTHING, drums, bass, lead, rythm, and vocals. The only difference is, a person is making EVERYTHING instead of a computer, therfor, the person has the talent, not the computer. Metal musicians use guitars and drums, Rappers use a dell or maybe a e-machine.
It's all about taste. A friend of mine quite often takes the piss out of grindcore and the like, making out that it's not music (He does so by doing a pathetic death grunt). It doesn't bother me though because he's not the one listening to it, I am. Actually, come to think of it, he's an intolerant prick. He likes punk music you see. I'd just love to see some of his bands squaring off against Cryptopsy, Suffocation and Dying Fetus. That'd be a sight to behold.
I thought I'd add, I never insult his music unless he insults mine, and even then it's just explaining why I think metal is infinately more entertaining.

Check out the Roots. All of the members play musical instruments; they even have the human beatbox instead of a turntable (Rahzel; he's talented as hell). Rahzel also does solo stuff; it's amazing to hear him. The Twix commercial thing does him no justice. All the sounds you're hearing on his songs (songs like All I Know) are coming from him. I think a lot of people hate rap because of the mainstream stuff that's so popular. But that stuff simply doesn't cut it. Real rap is NOT about "da club" or "da shawties" or anything like that.

Insynratehmyn wasnt the best, i know that, and openly admit that. ok. since 88 deicide has released one album that sucked....wow. Surely, if you dont enjoy Once Upon the Cross, or In Torment in Hell, you dont enjoy death metal. And check out Glen Benton on the new Vital Remains album, a 10 minute death metal song? Unheard of. BTW, hatebreed is rapcore, poser ass numetal.

Personally I am a metal Kid ; and no , I do not fit the stereotypical person that listens to metal. Its just what i can relate to. Which gets to my point(s) :::: Music is art. You can disect that all you'd like, but just like paintings and drawings : some people get it some dont. It really doesnt matter if another person likes it or not because its self expression .. . THEIR self expressions and opinions not yours . . just my take on that ; but rap is sooo serisouly easier to create. Most rappers dont even produce their own music. They get it from Dre or the Neptunes and just rap over it .. . anyone can do that , the trick it to being able to relate to people . . anyways im done .. :: TOKE it UP kids ::

i once listened to this guy mortiis and got freaked out, then i went to his website and got even more freaked out. i do kind of like the gothic instrumental music with a fantasy twist, kind of like medieval music i suppose. hatebreeder any good bands like that that aren't too heavy really but very deep?
