Pretty much anything on this website is a good deal, http://www.1000bulbs.com Check it out......Peace.
There are some decent prices on there, but these give more for less. I don't think there's any sort of scam in it. Do you think they could be used for growing? Does is seem like a reasonable deal? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...E:L:RTQ:US:1&viewitem=&item=230077622242&rd=1 Could someone please help me out? I'm on a tight budget, so if these bulbs will work well, I would like to get them before the time runs out.
i'm just a n00b too, but you gotta be careful to get the best color temps on your cfl's. from what i understand, for vegging, you want 5000K (blue spectrum) or else they'll get too stemmy. if flowering, 2700K (red spectrum) is best. i didn't see a temp listed on yours, so you should definitely ask the seller before you buy em. side question for the gurus (sorry to jack the thread) is 6500K too blue?
sorry dude! I forgot to say, those are 23W bulbs, sellers love to say what their incandescent equivalent is (100W in this case). 23s ain't bad if you're getting lots of them, just don't think it's givin you a 1000W grow but like i said, check out their color temp
I asked him about the lights. He said that the color is 2700. I was actually planning on only growing 5 plants. So with that I would be able to put 4-5 lights on all of them. But you guys are the experts here, so what do you think?
check out http://item.express.ebay.com/Four-3...320011435497QQihZ011QQtrZexpQQcmdZExpressItem it's about the same price and you get 4 5000K 30W bulbs. if your seedlings go into small pots at first, those 4 can carry them until it's time to transplant to bigger pots, and maybe by then you'll have the cash for another light (1000bulbs! ). besides, you're still gonna have to buy fixtures for all those bulbs, and that's gonna jack your costs right up. i haven't seen em for under 4 bucks. i'm by no means an expert, but i'd let that particular 24 pack slide.
The wattage should be sufficient. It would work, if you don't mind having a forest of light cables to deal with. I don't know what your setup is though so I don't know if it would be a problem for you. I only use two 100w CFLs from 1000bulbs over my 3 plants and the cords still bother me sometimes. But that's the way to go in my opinion... My suggestion, take your $30, add 10 more, and go to 1000bulbs.com and buy a couple 100w lights. If 2 of those big lights isn't enough, you can supplement with 23w or just buy another 100w... My 2 cents.
My setup is fairly small, it's 10' long, 4' tall, and 2' wide. I'm actually thinking I should take it down to only 4 plants. I'm going to do lst, so I'm not sure how much room I'll have. Do you happen to know the average width of an lst plant? Ok, so I'm think I buy the 26 watt from ebay, I buy 2 100 watt from 1000bulbs.com, and I'll buy some 23 watt suplement lights. Would that be enough for the vegitation period for 4 or 5 plants? Is there a possibility that wuould also be enough for the flowering period as well?
Yes that will be enough for veg. but flowering your going to need a different light spectrum. It will be 2700K bulbs you will need then.
I'm using 6500K and 3000K bulbs in my grow now. About 3-1 right now for vegging. I'll reverse the ratio when I go to flower.
I thought of yet another question to ask. If I'm using the lst method, when will I start flowering. Do I start it when the main stem is around 15", or do I start when the side sprouts are about 15"? How much will 4 plants stink. If I use some odor absorbing gel, will you be able to smell it from the room next door? Any suggestions on odor control. For ventilation, do I need an intake and output vent, or only an inake. The room has a hose that runs to the outside of the house that I could attach a fan to. Any suggestions? Would 2 125watt envirolite flowering bulbs be enough for 4 plants, or will I need to add more?
