Hey guys, Spent quite a bit of time on the forum looking around but this is my first post. Let me start off by telling you what I have... -400w Light in sealed reflector with 6" ducting on both sides. -435CFM blower for ventilation. -Adjustable blower speed controller. My cabinet is much warmer because of the lights during the day, and cooler at night while they're off. I still however need to have air movement at night. What I'm trying to do is figure out a way to have the blower speed automatically increase during the day to acomodate for the higher temperature but dial back to about half speed at night to lessen the noise while still moving air through the cabinet. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
My best guess is that you would have to rig up a thermostat to control the fan based on the temperatures inside the box, or the time of day... Although I have never tried to do it. If your fan is 435cfm that means your using the valueline 6" right? Do you really find that its noisy enough that it needs to be turned down at night? I would consider trying to find a way to muffle the exhaust if its a concern and leave the thing running full blast (temperatures permitting).
