I'm growing some King Louie XVII Bagseed and nothing has sprouted, it's already Day 5 and I started it last saturday (March 19th) and now it's (March 23) and still nothing. I placed 3 seeds into one large bottle with some soil and a regular watering schedule (no nutes yet, was going to wait until they sprouted) , and I have two bottles going. Neither bottle has sprouted any of its seeds. Before I placed the seeds in the soil I let them sit in a glass of water for a day in the cupboard, then the next day I place them in a papertowl and let them sit in the cupboard once again. Any help? Should I throw them out? Should I keep them for abit longer?
I can provide pictures, but I can assure you I don't see any sprouting. It just looks like soil. HELP!
The way I germ seeds is a bit unorthodox. I just get some damp soil in a solo cup and place seeds on top of the soil and water then a few days later I see tails and all of the usually sprout. But then again what do I know I'm a noob
It's going to depend on several factors as to how long it takes them to come up since you planted them that way. When you say you planted them in bottles, I hope you don't mean clear bottles. No roots need light exposure. They need only total darkness to be healthy. If you've planted the seeds very deep at all...like more than 1/4" deep, you're just going to have to wait until they sprout. And no, don't toss them yet. Sometimes it takes as much as 10-12 days for seed to sprout and come up when planted straight into the dirt. Now, as far as your comment about waiting till they sprout to give them nutes....you need to rethink that a bit. If you've got a brand new little seedling there, does it really make sense to you to pour a bunch of chemicals onto it when it first comes up? I hope not. You'll just fry it right then and there. Nutes are meant to be started once the plant has had an opportunity to use up the nutes that are naturally in the soil. After the seeds sprout, all you give them is plain old pH'd water. They'll go about creating their root system first and won't do much in the way of foliage growth until they have established their root system. Once this is done, you'll start to see the foliage grow more vigorously. Since you have them started in bottles, I assume you're planning on potting them up once they're too large. If this is the case, with proper repotting into fresh soil, you will need NO nutes until way on down the road. A big thing is to make sure your water is pH'd to the correct range, 6.3 to 6.7 for soil grows, AND make sure you don't over water. You should only water your plants after they have used up at least 80% of the water in the container they are growing in. If they've not dried out enough, it's not time to water. These things don't like to have their roots sitting around in moisture constantly. You'll end up with root rot that way. I think it would help if you would go to the new grower threads here and do some reading on the basics of growing these plants the right way. It's not rocket science, but you better familiarize yourself with the proper procedure or you'll be on here daily with questions about stuff you could've answered yourself if you had taken the time to do a little bit of research. Good luck!! Hope all goes well. TWW
I drop seeds in a small glass with room temp water + cover and put that glass on top of my xbox to keep warm. Let it germ for two days, let taproots grow a bit. Then pop into soil with taproot pointed down, then cover it with dirt make sure it's no deeper than 1/4th inch deep or it may not sprout. I see sprouts in 2-4 days most the time, could take longer. Don't keep messing with it that's my number one tip to you. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Could be un matured seeds, squeeze them a bit between your fingers (not hard) if they crush they are deff not viable, also keep a eye out for the darker color brown seeds. I have good results with these Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
