Day 4 of a 2 week doctor forced break

    while playing rugby on the weekend i ripped my arm out of its socket (bad dislocation) and had to be taken to the hospital and put under for a couple hours while they put me back in place. the worst part of it was that when i awoke i was told "no alcohol or smoking of marijuana for two weeks" due to the general anesthetic.

    not smoking for two weeks is bad enough but i cant work or use my right arm so all i have is free time lounging at home.

    man, that's rough. not a whole lot to do cooped up in the house that wouldn't be way more fun ripped. if it makes you feel better, i'll smoke a few extra bowls over the next 10 days for ya.

    when i got my wisdom teeth out, i was put under, and they never said anything about smoking pot, they said i shouldn't smoke cuz it was rip my stitches out, but dont listen to me, i'm no doctor

    Anyone here a doctor?

    I was recently put under for surgery with general anisthetic and unfortunatley it was the day before my birthday.
    no one told me anything, so that night I smoked a birthday fatty, alittle bit o shisha, and got drunk as a skunk.

    Dont regret it one bit. :D

    anyways more importantly I dont know if I agree with the doctors warning, and think it merits a bit o research. Personally I find smoking a bowl more enjoyable than sitting there and looking at it helplessly. I feel your pain--get well soon

    its fucking frustrating,
    I was groggy and out of it and never was told the reasoning why so i didnt ask. My girlfriends dads a doctor and i only mentioned they said no drinking and he said something about the general anesthetic but like i dont know what else they gave me. They had said take it easy no physical activity for two weeks and no drinking and smoking of marijuana but i dont know if its like they think if i get drunk or high ill re-hurt myself or if there is an actual like reason behind it. It was only an intern that talked to me. I want to ask my real doctor but i couldnt make an appointment till next week and he wont know what they gave me either. Like i tried to research it and it said something about how general anesthetic makes you groggy and can make you overly tired and stuff and maybe they like think that like the two combined could make me really groggy but like i dont plan on driving or anything so i dont see a problem, im not on medication or anything.

    My girlfriends dad offered me beer when i was over for dinner and i said i was told no alcahol and he tossed me one anyway and said if i died he knows how to revive me so he didnt seem to worried so im really thinking about rolling one, it was saturday morning and its day 5 now...

    yeah, im not a doctor,but I highly doubt smoking would have any negative effect on you.I would still toke, but its up to you.

    they just tell you no smoking cause if you do, and it messes with ur shit or something you could come back and blame the doctors for not telling you to not do something thats illegal in the first place

    doesnt make sense does it

    yea, they just said that bcuz yur painkillers. if u smoke while on them itl make u super high, ive done it on many pain killers, its a nice mix. but if u drink on the killers, consider yurself dead, lol.

    smoking anything (mj included), and most drug use slows down the healing process. If youre on pain meds, they probably figure theyre necessary despite their effect on the healing process.
    you can still smoke, probably just make sure you take it easy so you dont strain the arm while youre high and dont notice it.

    dude that sucks about your injury, hope ya feel better!I was suppost to go on a MJ break because of a new job but I found another one that doesn't drug test but if I were you I'd smoke anyway, it'll help with the pain :) so smoke on!

    Not always.
    Remember how MJ can make you hear, see and FEEL better?
    It can actually amplify the pain as it can amplify pleasure.

    I'm pretty sure its not wise to mix pain killers with Herb or Al especially Herb and Al.
    I bet they gave you anti-inflammatory ones!

    when i broke my leg earlier this year i had 3 operations on it... etc.. when i got out of hospital one of the first things i did was get my bong out, had no problems at all.
    and i do believe bud helped my bone growth because a month later when i had an x-ray the doctor said he hadn't seen bone grow that fast for a LONG time...
    who knows..
