My dad was a dysfunctional artist and intellectual, a huge jazz fan who lived with this music and passed it down to his kids. I could hear this tune anywhere, anytime and pick it out of the ether. RIP Dave Brubeck, you and your ilk opened our minds! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faJE92phKzI]Dave Brubeck - Take Five - 1966 - YouTube[/ame]

Brubeck left a great legacy. My dad took me to see him when I was really young, like 8 or 9. It changed my perception of music. He was one of the greats. I'll miss him.
Haha, toked up with my dad listening to this dude with the synched up Christmas lights, end of an era.
Thanks mods for moving this; I was just kind of crushed and didn't think where to post it. Dave Brubeck was classic and old school, celebrate the guy's unique style!
Can't believe this. He was 91. 91!!! A true pioneer of jazz, one of the greats for sure. I listen to Time Out and Time Further Out a lot these days, it's going to be weird listening to them knowing Brubeck's not on this earth anymore. R.I.P. Dave Brubeck 1920-2012. A period of my life has just died, and will remain forever cherished in my memories.
