Anyone know what these spots are? Making me nervous. Runtz strain, FFOF soil, LED lights. Just did my first feeding last week with the foxfarm trio + calmag at 1/2 strength. PH going in is always about 6.3-6.5 and runoff was 6.5 during watering this morning. Water every 3 or 4 days once the pot is light and soil is dry. I keep temperature low 70s and humidity right around 50%.
Since all the nutrients, pH, humidity, light, and everything else seem to be well-controlled, and the plant is otherwise appearing very healthy, I’m not sure what to make of it either. Could this be a fungus? Maybe I will try some Neem oil empirically. I'll watch the spots until tomorrow and probably just cut off the affected parts. Hopefully whatever this is doesn't spread!
What are the ppms going in and out? are you already using the tiger bloom? you said the trio you should NOT use tiger bloom yet it drops the ph way way down the spots could be the beginning of necrosis
your plant is very pale and does not look healthy i had the same exact thing a few weeks ago i poured a cup of warm water mixed with fish shit right down the main stem within a week she got green and happy
The plant honestly looks healthy and appears to be growing well. I haven't measured ppms yet, and I also haven't used any tiger bloom yet. I've just been following the manufacturer recommendations for the appropriate week of growth. However, the pH is measuring essentially perfect going in and for run-off. During my next feeding tomorrow or Wednesday (I just watered yesterday), Tiger bloom will be in the mix since I just flipped to flower on Sunday. I'm only using half strength so I can't imagine I am giving too many nutrients. I just checked the pH and ppm of this solution that I made ahead of time yesterday - pH 6.5, ppm 300, EC 0.7. Maybe I just need to feed more? A little hesitant since I had an overfeeding problem on a prior grow. I haven't measured runoff ppm yet. I ended up just spraying with neem oil just in case this could be fungal. I also removed some of the affected leaves. Oddly enough, I saw similar spots when it was a seedling. I just cut off those leaves and didn't see them reappear until just now, which was probably about 4 weeks later. I have to say, if this grow goes haywire, I'll probably be taking a break for a while since this will be 3 failures in a row.
Here are some of those similar spots from when it was a seedling. I just cut them off and didn't see any issue again until just now!
why only 1 plant could you fit more in there? thats why i always start several in case of problems i dont waste a month of time I think you will be fine I know exactly what you mean about being scared of over feeding i have killed a few before just keep going by the schedule good luck i wouldnt worry about the spots
Key word. First feeding . So the plant was starting to get lack of nutrients . Pale green brown spots start to form . Soon those few dark spots spread and destroy the plant if no nutrient used . You just started to feed nutrients . Just follow the directions on the bottle . And feed full strength cal mag. Its almost impossible to over due calmag . Those plants will be lush green in a few weeks brown spots should stop forming soon as well. Brown sports can be a disease or a nutrient issue . Your feeding now so i have to say you will be 100 % good now. I would sleep very well now if i were you . Edited. I want the poster to read this . As i posted above he will be good to go. Just make sure your have a fan in the tent . This will make sure the plant is good to go 100 %. Now this article looks a bit different but poster plants are in a beginning stage . Again use a fan and feed i feel very good the issue will resolve .. As i said possible disease well odds of disease very slim. Possible fungi . https://dutch-passion.com/en/blog/cannabis-leaf-septoria-vs-calcium-deficiency-n1109
Thank you for your reply! I have had a fan running, I also did a Neem oil treatment just to be safe and trimmed off the affected parts. I’m hoping it’s just a nutrient deficiency, will feed tomorrow or following day once she dries up. Will also measure runoff pH and pms. I’ve gotten into trouble with overwatering before too! I’ll keep you all posted, thank you again.
Overall, the plant still looks grossly healthy. I gave a feeding this morning with the FoxFarm trio at 1/2 strength with full strength calmag. pH of runoff was 6.4. It's only been two days since last water, but I wanted to get some nutrients on board, so watered a bit early! A few tiny new spots have cropped up, it honestly looks much more consistent with a nutrient deficiency rather than a fungus. The humidity is consistently <50% with a fan blowing. I won't do any more trimming so I can watch the progression and will only trim leaves if they start becoming necrotic. Hopefully this takes care of the issue!
Hi all, Just wanted to close the loop. After starting the feeds at half strength with full strength CalMag, the plant continues to grow well and appear healthy. Those dark spots remain tiny and do not appear to be spreading, supporting the diagnosis of some kind of nutrient deficiency. Perhaps an Mn deficiency? Doesn't really matter at this point. I'll continue watering every 3-4 days with feeding at half strength every other watering and uptitrate the strength as needed! Thank you again for all of your help, I'm sure I'll encounter some other issue as the grow progresses
