Dancing Monkeys

  1. just like the video said. because they are scared and alone

i really enjoyed the video, humans do think they are entitled to be happy and i often find myself envious of animals because they can just "be"

i'd love to just "be" for the rest of my life but my racing thoughts won't allow me to do that.

in the end, we are all just monkeys. we are so proud of our vast intelligence and our amazing accomplishments but people fail to realize we can't even stop killing each other. we claim to be so smart and superior when were the only species killing each other for no reason, destroying our natural habitat and doing everything we can to make things harder on ourselves.

our beliefs reach for the sky for us to rot in the ground.

  2. I would imagine that it has to do a lot with socialization and pre-wired instincts. Fact or fiction, i don't know.. here is a brief story about a child raised by wolves..

I would like to think that it is advantageous to deny certain aspects of animal nature.. Eating ones children... Pooping in the drinking water.. and so on. Denying certain animal urges sorta makes sense.

if i was to simply be.. well i'd probably freeze death or starve unless taught what berries are good to eat, and which will make ya crap yer pants..

  3. Wouldn't it be best to deny all of our instincts that are harmful and just "be?"

We could all drop away our trappings if we wanted to enough. We could let go of our experiences and understand ourselves fully so that we can let go of our thoughts.

That doesn't mean we'll defecate on ourselves or freeze to death.

  4. the day another animal sends one of their kind to another planetary body in our solar system then I'll consider not putting myself and my kinda above them. Until then, I'll take the ability to drive down the road and eat an animal I didn't have to chase down and kill, and prepare. Specialization is why we are better than animals. Well that and the ability to improve our knowledge from experiments.

And for all the talk about we are the only group to kill each other for no reason is a load of bull-crap. There is always a reason, it just may not mean much to you. This is also ignoring that every other animal on the planet fights, they all fight for the right to mate, for land, for food.

You can just be if you want, everyone that practices mediation proves this. Of course the guy in the video is also assuming that those animals don't have any thoughts. Watch the national geographic channel sometime and tell me when some animal's parent dies, is that baby "just being"? How about the elephants that won't go through the bones of other elephants?

This guy is basically saying an eye that develops is no different than another eye that develops but is color blind. Yes there are a lot of similarities but to say they are the same ignores the differences.

  5. stumbleupon?

  6. What else?:p

  7. Put any normal in the wild with no other humans and a monkey, the human will die first because it's so accustomed to going to the store to get its food, not climb trees and kill squirrel like we used to.
