I used to be a bartender at a little dive bar. This old guy came in every single day at the same time, same drinks, never really talked to anyone other than me. Real nice guy, just didn't seem to really have any family. That said, it has been 3 years since I worked at the bar or have seen this guy. I just received a call saying that he passed away and left me $13,000 in his will. I'm still in shock over this.
See, this is why it pays to be respectful and nice to everybody you cross paths with, even if it's just in a job capacity. It really can make a difference in somebody's life. You made a difference in this dude's life, and now he's making one in yours.
... That's pretty awesome. Clearly you meant a good deal to him, without having many people to turn to maybe you were the reason he was even there. Very cool bro, enhancing people's lives is what is UP!
Its so awesome I find it hard to believe. Regardless, this is a great story, enjoy your money. apparently you earned it
I'm still having a hard time believing it too so don't worry about that. And it is hard for me to say I earned it. I just did my job.
Damn man. Stuff like that just shows you that being a nice person really does pay off. You could've just ignored him and played on your phone or something while he was there, but you talked to, and probably more importantly, listened to him. It obviously meant a lot to him, even if you didn't realize it at the time.
Just payin it forward man. Karma does exist, prime example. Keep on being a good guy OP, someone's always watching
that's the best thing ive read all week truly fucking awesome any more details ? did he say anything in the will about you ?
damn dude. see it litterly pays to just give some people a little compasion. old dude prob worked his whole life and had no one to share his cash with.
damn poor guy didnt have anyone to leave it with... so he left it with his bartender at his favorite watering hole. thats cool as funk!
