Please listen to this situation I have a 2 y.o. germen shepard unneutered male. Since a year ago his limbs(aka legs) occasionally get a limp. he fully starts limping on one leg. lifting it off the ground while sitting and showing that his leg is obviously 'hurting' in the past it has looked o bad that we thought he had broken it or sprained it. we ended up taking him to the doc aka vet. vet checks him out for 10 mins (max). looks where we tell him hes hurting, and check its out. puts him on the scale for weight.... gives 10 'anti-inflammatory' pills. CHARGE????? $100... we have already taken him twice. the second time we brought a $100 dollar bill... it wasnt enough. i went up like 8 dollars to $108 its 1 pill a day and he is always better by the 10th. i would like just these pills.... and not have to pay ONE HUNDRED FUCKING BUCKS. now i have a unneutered crazy ass active dog who im not taking on walks in this snow/ice/salt mixture in fear that his problem will worsen. and in hope that it will heal in time -he is totally bored in the house and theres nothing i can do but listen to his idiot self whine when he wants to go out the vet system is a total fucking scam and it is so unfortunate. i should not be having to give hundreds of dollars for next to NOTHING. o and if i wanted to have xrays done on the dog it would costs a few hundred.... which i have optd not to do since these pills help him. he is now limping a bit on his front paw. i am definatly not interested in spending $100 fucking dollars on this STUPID ass shit. this shit is probably genetic for my dog and theres nothing to be helped inway. so im pissed that this is like a never ending pit of money. FUCKKKKKKKKKKK. guys should i be exercising my dog when hes limping? it doesnt seem logical at all. and him being in the house like this is just fucking wack. can a special diet give him more anti inflammatory shit? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the worst is that i dont think anyone can helpppppp
I would let him go on walks, maybe rig up a heating pad on the hurt leg so it doesn't get too cold, you know? But working out hurt muscles could help, all the dogs at my dads house have been outside dogs & whenever they limp or anything my dad just lets them be, I mean...they're dogs, shit happens.. they only take them in if they get bitten by a wild animal or are bleeding a lot Also, you could look up any anti-inflammatory pills similar to the ones your dog has now online and see if there are any cheaper generic ones? My dad gets a lot of things from the feed store to help our dogs..
Have you tried finding the pills online? Since it isn't a human prescription then I doubt you would get in any trouble for ordering them from overseas or something. Maybe this will help. http://www.petcarerx.com/
im gonna take your advice and take him on some short walks, with maybe something wrraped around the leg lightly. and good idea on looking up the pills online.. didnt really know you could dammnnn thanks alot dude! i shouldve known something like this existed. i went to dog sections and theres a part for arthritis & pain and pills for joints and stuff so i definite thanks dude! i dont know exactly which pills he had hopefully i can find out from my mom or find the bottle. this is what i found before and ill just post it here "Don't panic. You probably *do* want to take your pup into a vet certified in orthopedic problems and reading x-rays just to make sure you can eliminate hip and elbow dysplasia from the cause of the problem. (Of course, that's true of all GSD puppies since early diagnosis/treatment of dysplasia is important to your puppy's healthy life even if you don't plan on breeding.) But... most likely the vet will confirm that your pup has panosteitis, an inflammation of the long bones in the legs of adolescent pups. It's fairly common in GSDs. It's also known as "long bone disease", "shifting leg lameness" and "growing pains". "Pano" can be detected and diagnosed by x-ray. Onset can be from 5-12 months (occasionally later) and last until 18 months or more. Though it is uncomfortable for the puppy, it almost always grows out of it. The lameness need not be limited to one leg. Pano is generally considered to be a polygenic trait with limited heretibility (1). heres a pic of the little buggers leg hopefully im able to find him pills that works. thanks for all of your help!!
Not everyone owns pets. The less demand for service, the higher the cost. Sorry, but that's how it works and that's why vet services are expensive.
More product = cheaper product. People want to buy shit for less money, so when there's a ton of the same items or services, people will buy the cheapest items and services. Economics Basics: Demand and Supply The reason weed is so expensive is because it's illegal. Once it is legal, and the society is flooded with suppliers, the price will drop dramatically.
u think vets are expensive? have you ever been to the doctor? a shrink? a counselor? a lawyer? did u actually check the bill? i bet it wasnt 100 dollars just for pills!
just because u went to an expensive vets office doesnt mean the "vet system is a total scam," jackass. and if your wondering why im pissed its because my dad is a fucking veterinarian..and from what you are saying, you just overpaid and didnt ask questions. if you think its so expensive how about just having him put to sleep? that would solve your money woes!
Dogs are expensive My German Shepard was hit by a car a few years ago, it costed thousands of dollars to save her leg, which is now completely fused together and has arthritis, but she still uses it to walk It was to the point where she was almost too expensive to keep alive. It's a sad thing, having to decide whether to go broke for your pet's life or kill her to avoid it
Im sure you could find it online? Sorry im not more help but I also have a 6 year old german shepherd and hes like my child so I know it sucks man..
Seriously, you need to calm down. Calling people jackasses isn't necessary. Personally, i think the whole medical community is a scam.
Your dog will probably be fine with some treatment and time. I have a lot of respect for vets. Physicians only have to learn about treating one species, human, while vets have to know about many.
If you can't take him for walks. Try buying him a Kong. Is a toy were you can stuff dog treats in it, and the dog tries to get them out. I have a 3 year weimaraner who has tons of energy, and the Kong keeps him busy for hours.
i have a 9 year old wiener dog that had a serious back problem about a year ago. he couldn't walk by himself and barely stand and the surgery would of been like $2,000. instead we found some lady who did herbal and all natural remedies and she healed him completely for a few hundred dollars by giving him an all natural diet with lots of vitamins and nutrients. he ended up healing fully and we saved a lot of money. the lady was called a Reiki master and she did some stuff where she laid hands on him with crystals and shit. its hard to believe and i still dont believe it but my dog is alive and well so it speaks for itself to me here is some info What Is Reiki?
Try giving your dog an OTC anti-inflammatory instead. You can find them on the internet: 1800PetMeds: Rimadyl Safely Relieves the Painful Symptoms of Arthritis in Dogs - 1800PetMeds 1800PetMeds: Deramaxx Relieves the Pain and Inflammation of Osteoarthritis in Dogs - 1800PetMeds And you can probably get them at pet stores like Petsmart and Petco.
The worst part is that dogs cant tolerate weed. Imagine if they actually could. Then you could buy weed for your dog and share a cookie together. It would be medicinal marijuana for dogs and the slogan would be "wanna get your dog high? buy this edible pie besides that i cant help you. browse the web or get an account somewhere in that field. im sure theres gonna be cheaper ways
thanks all, but he recovered by himself in under a week and had no problems since im glad i didnt go light some money on fire at the local vet. though the old fuck probably wouldve liked it.
