Dammit I really hate cars...

  1. So my power steering was feeling low and there was a low gridning type noise when I drove so I brought it in to the dealer and they basically said there's a whole lot wrong, some bad leak and a couple new parts are needed...and that it's gonna be like $1,100 to fix everything...I didn't even do anything wrong, that's more than it cost to fix my friend's car after he got in an accident. Anyways because of this I'm not gonna be smoking or partying for a while now...I'm hoping my parents will help and maybe pay half, but even then I still have next to no money now so this really blows.

  2. few basic handtools a 30$ manual and you can fix everything on yur car just takes time

  3. yeah..but I can't do any of that and neither can my friends...plus I guess some new huge part is needed or something and there's a bad leak in another part...it was really difficult to drive and I could barely turn the wheel at low speeds. I talked to my dad and he's gonna cover most of it and it's only gonna be like 870 or something...and he just wants me to pay a small part like $200 or so. I guess that's pretty lucky.

  4. you can do anything, my first car was an 81 honda civic and my dad was like you want a car you can have that one if you fix( had no damn engine) i just got a book and read and did it!!!

  5. Love cars. Hate car insurance.

They make it so you can just barely afford one, but not the other.

  6. is having car insurance the law in other places? Amsterdam ?

  7. I know for a fact that Canada and the US have mandatory insurance laws, which they frequently enforce: "License, registration and proof of insurance please." "I dont have proof of insurance." "Here's a big fat ticket."

I think the UK has them as well, though I can't be sure.

All I know is, the only reason I don't drive, currently, is because insurance is so obscenely priced.

  8. because of my
foolishness i pay 165$usd per month for liability ahahah which is why i dont have a much nicer car!

  9. i just wanna say i hope you know the mechanic you took it to because from the sound of it, you don't seem to know a lot about cars and you can get easily, EASILY screwed by a mechanic....... don't mean to sound like a bitch but you should be careful about that unless you have a disposable income.
