Daily smoking lowered IQ?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Dylanbob, Mar 17, 2023.

  1. Hey everyone,

I've smoked weed frequently since 2014 when I was 21. But since 2016 i did it almost daily, sometimes with pauses though, so it's about 300 days a year let's say.

Now I notice i'm making really stupid mistakes when sober too, my reasoning and problem solving are at times really bad. I'm wondering if this was caused perhaps by smoking weed for so long and at such frequency?

  2. I've been smoking/ingesting weed daily for 55 years and never had a problem.

  4. instead of focusing on where you may be going wrong just focus on not focusing on that ... seems odd but your focus determines your outcome in all situations in life ... lose focus lose everything.

  5. No one likes to admit it but to much of anything isn't good for you. That includes weed. Now I've been smoking everyday for as long as I can remember but I'd be lying if I said it has had zero effect on me, of course it has. Just like drinking to much or smoking cigarettes. Weed is definitely safer but you are still smoking it and all that smoke and resin is going into your lungs. Day after day after day that shit adds up, and surely it effects the brain and memory as well.

Definitely not some anti weed person either, but to say long term daily weed use is completely harmless to the body would be an out right lie.

And don't none of you be getting offended it's just my opinion lol.

  6. Your opinion is a quite good one. You are quite right, long term use of anything has its effects on the body; some good, some not so good. Balance is important. I smoke everyday, but not all day (most days anyway). Perhaps the OP's younger age may play a role (compared to someone who started using later in life) in causing his current condition. Personally, I've never felt like my I.Q. has dropped due to cannabis use.

  7. Agree with that, definitely starting younger when your brain hasn't fully developed I'm sure weed would effect it. I started smoking at like 13-14 and while I never had issues learning most subjects, I could never get math down. No clue if it was just me or if the smoking all the time effected that but even to this day I can't understand math from algebra and beyond. Tried over n over again to learn it but just couldn't get it to stick.

But yeah end of the day though as an adult you are gonna do what you wanna do. There's consequences to everything you do in life. And smoking the sweet ganja is worth it all to me! Lol

  8. weed affects the short term memory , like what you did 2 minutes ago ...like PC RAM
your symptom's are more like a head injury or even like bleeding of the brain like a mini stroke
easy enough go get checked out

you might get more help at an anti weed site but here you seem foolish ....lol

  10. yeah, smoke by product has that effect ... lets say the same scenario of continual weed use except the person is juicing raw flower instead of smoking it all those years.. the only biochemistry proof we have of how cannabis metabolizes in our body is added cellular plasticity in our cells

  11. Age, politics, and religion all have a major influence towards lowering an IQ; it’s difficult to avoid all three… Weed may also have an impact on IQ, but it also lowers the concern…

  12. I agree, been at it for decades, thankful I get better quality from trusted source in medical program. Has helped my physical and psychological disabilities tremendously.

  13. how we approach a thing certainly matters ... determines the outcome, our approach ... looking at plants as smoke only is an approach ... looking it the [plant as a health source is too an approach
