I just came into a bunch of oil from a buddy who makes it but don't have a rig or anything. I do however have a 18mm bong. My buddy told me I can just get a swing attachment, but I am so lost on this whole new dab rig things. Any help on what a swing attachment is and what id need to get going? I already have a dentist pick and a torch.
Hey man, it's like a bell with a plate under it, with the plate hanging there where you can hinge it back and fourth from under the bell, (which is where the smoke will be pulled into from the plate where the dabs will go). So then you take a torch and heat the plate till it's really hot then swing it under the bell and drop the dab on and hit the bong and that's about it. Another thing you can do it get a nail and a dome, which is what I use. Basically, you'd take the bowl out of your bong, and put a male to male adapter in there, then stick a glass or titanium nail into the opening where it'll sit poking out, then you heat it up and put this glass dome on top there to keep the smoke in, then you touch the dabber to the nail and hit the bong.
Thanks a bunch brother, that cleared up a lot! Which do you prefer, the dome or the swing? I have some cash to spend at my headshop, but I know that the swing is a little under $100.
its personal preference. I prefer the dome and nail cause it looks cleaner. If you get a nail, get a titanium one. Just look on youtube man. Search Oil dabs or something like that and a bunch of stuff will pop up
Yeah I like the dome and nail. If you can fine one where the male to male adapter isn't straight, but instead has an angle where the reclaim can fall without going into the water, then that's good. When you run out of everything else to smoke, that shit'll get you high dog. And yes titanium nails are the best.
if you arent gonna be dabbing outside the swing is better because of the large area of ti for the dab to vape on. i find on the v3 type titanium nails you oil pools up in one spot so the nail under it cools off and by the time the *top* of the dab gets to the titanium it might not vape fully. go for the swing! just dont burn yourself! and youll need a good torch. not just a lighter one. a creme brule butane torch or a propane torch will work. propane will kill your titanium faster.
