I was at gamestop a couple days ago and ended up grabbing Dragon Age Origins for cheap used, figured id never played it before and only keep hearing good things. I get home, light up, and start playing. The story's cool and the origins seem cool, but when I got to the combat... omg i couldn't stand it. maybe it was just the class i chose? (rogue) but i cant stand when you just click and the character attacks then every once in a while you use a skill. Maybe if it was an MMORPG on PC or something but definitely not a console game lol. Im gonna probably just grab something else but idk what to grab... thinking of darksiders, any suggestions?
I played through as all of them, but was never a dwarf. Found the game to be a ton of fun. Didn't like that you couldn't roam around the world, but still a damn good rpg imo. But I can see why some wouldn't like it.
Yea I love everything about it except the combat, they way it is is enough for me to not be too into it. I don't mind the slow paced story and progression I like taking in an RPG but the combat is too slow. I fucking love the choicemaking though. That's what im really looking for in a game, where a lot of things I say or do can change the course of the game
how far are you? combat really opens up later when you can finally make solid tactics for the NPCs you control the whole party, not just your guy
I started as a rogue and then made a mage now im enjoying it a bit more, Im just gonna give it a chance and get further
Rogue was hella fun and so was Mage. Early stage combat is lane, but once you and your party level the combat is much for fun and some of the fights are quite difficult on hard. Dragon age 2 sucks
I recently bought Da ultimate edition. I was an avid dragon age player on the pc and the console version is...different. But none the less it's still a good game. Like others say it starts off slow but once you gain more tactic slots for your team you'll see why combat is pretty engaging. 2 tankers up front, healer and destruction mage in the back, strategic moves start to come into play. And if you're a rouge, you want to play as a rouge, which means backstabbing, utilizing the bow, and being less hostile towards enemies. A warrior goes in, using taunts and shield abilities to take damage while giving it. Never been a mage, but using them it's fun. Huge AOE attacks, and the least hostile so they don't get hit as much, really fun and strategic (that is, if you're playing on hard)
That actually sounds pretty sweet and thats what i figured it would come to. I was at target today and they had the 2 Turtle beach on sale for 79.99 and even the cheapest one i found online was 85.99 new so idk if i should go back and grab it or just suck it up and grab a 7.1 headset.
