cutting the main bud off so others can grow bigger?

you can transplant that into a larger container and solve your issue. people cut off the main colas near harvest time to get more light to the lower buds for a couple days. this is not a practice people use to supply more energy.

 

you want all of your cropping done at least a couple of weeks before flowering begins.... no supercropping after 2 weeks of flowering...

and i agree with needa... needs a bigger pot

 

if you tug a little on the stalk, does it feel like it would all come out in one chunk? you may need to take a butter knife and move it along the sides like you were trying to get a cake out of the pan. if you can transplant, it would be better. if you feel it out and aren't comfortable, add soil..

 

from the looks of it, your going to do more harm if dont. ive taken three foot tall plants out of my veg side that were growing together (15 plants in a 2x3) and literally ripped them apart. threw em in my ebb n gro and they did fine. took em a week to bounce back and i lost a couple of internodes on most of them... but they lived and are 10 days away from being picked.

i say this to take away your fear of killing the plant. dump that sucker over and take it out. your not going to kill it.

 

haven't seen her, but if she is the same size and in the same size pot, yes.

 

up to you. the plant in the pic would have at least trippled in size if it were in a three gallon bucket. little bit late now with them already half way through flower. but youll know for next time. if you double your dirt, ull be fine for the rest of this grow.

 

that one looks better.... see the difference with more root room. that one could have had a bigger one, but probably doesn't have to have it now. it you do the other and gain a little confidence, do the bigger one also.

left one looks much nicer.... you have a nice bit o' bud coming. exciting... just baby them a little longer. i think you did well and you'll do even better next time..

 

When you harvest, don't cut the whole plant down at one time. Cut the largest top cola, then wait a week or two for the lower buds to fill out and get riper, cut the enlarged lower buds the same way, take the tip colas then wait for the lower parts on the branch to size up. You will increase your harvest considerably with this method.

Is there a name for that method? sounds like it would work very well, im gonna do that once i get some girls going for sure.

 

i don't know how outdoor plants work, but on my indoor grow, the lower nugs ripen first.
