Cut back for about 6 months, now bongs blow my face off.

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by SkunkRoller, Jan 21, 2023.

  1. I've been smoking joints, and consuming less each session for about 6 months. Joints give me a mild but heavy stone.

Recently when I hit a bong it fucks me right up again like it's my first time all over again.

I recommend extended reduction in consumption if anyone's struggling with getting a strong high. Roll a reefer and enjoy it for what it is. Bongs are a luxury. J's are OG.

  2. Doing something similar with my dabbing, just dabbing less. Planning a Lenten tolerance break. I'm not religious, but that's a good time and time frame for a break. This will be my third year and I've never made it 40 days, yet, lol.
    I do love my bong.

  3. 1-2 times per year I take a 3-4 day tolerance break (I smoke multiple times per day typically) and I agree, I'll get my bong sparkling clean, pure water, a little ice, and 10 seconds after that first hit from after a break...good stuff.

One of the only things I carried into adulthood from my Catholic upbringing, the wife and I also typically give up something for about a month in the spring.

  4. But why? There is no need to ever take a break.

This works every day. Never fails. No tolerance build. Don't make me say it again. You never have to ever come down. Wakeup, Take another capsule or 2 and blaze through the day. Just like yesterday.

  6. Wish it were so. Tolerance is very real for me and has been for 50 years. I can take as many capsules as I want when my tolerance is at it's peak, but it won't get me high. That's even when I make Brasscaps. I wish it wasn't so, but it is for many of us. You're just a lucky man @BrassNwood !

  7. Damn you are one of a very few it seems. I get a 9 out of 10 users it knocks their sock off every day. I've only run up against one other that could daily dose even close to me and that was mrsilly here on the city. The Lecithin usually is so efficient they punch right through any resistance.
Do you have other medication absorption issues ? Not being noisy and don't answer if to personal. The one resister let's call him was missing his gall bladder and we always wondered if that was the reason. Low or no production of the CYP2C9 enzyme. He got stoned well enough smoking but never got much bang at all from edibles even at 1000mg of my Oil.

  8. TBH I think its just as much about proving to myself that I can take a 2-3 day break a couple of times a year, just to know I can.

  9. I've had this issue since I started smoking in '68. I figure I'm missing that important enzyme. I don't know if I have other med absorption issues, but don't think I do. Nothing evident. I use medically as well as for recreation, heck, I use it for living, and the hit to my high from regular use is the price I pay for my stable mood. I'm glad cannabis works for you as well as it does, I get you're in a world of hurt without your caps.

  10. I know it takes few days of high doses to reach what I call "Maximum saturation" where I start backing off my daily dose on my own as my pain is zero and more stone just makes me clumsy and pisses off the Wife.
It takes several days of total abstinence up to a week or more for that saturation to wear off and my pain to come crawling back.
I always like to explore the why it doesn't work on this one and knocks that one super silly. We should all be like my wife as 2mg lights her up.

  11. I've always just stopped out of the blue a couple of times a year. I'll get up one day and not start. 10 days later my belly hurts and I get back in the saddle. Doesn't really affect my mood. Wife only catches on when I crank back up and she'll say something snippy like "My aren't we extra stoned and clumsy today" I've been sober all week and just started back up.. Ohh I didn't know.

  12. I've occasioanlly gone a week or more without smoking (7-10 days) it definatley gets easier after the first 2 48 hours or so (for me), typically thoug I take longer breaks when I have an important job coming, that might have a lot of safety considerations, and I don't want to risk even the slightest high hangover the next morning at 6am when I'm putting on a harness and jumping in a 45+ft basket lift. (Not even just for me, but I refuse to be that asshole who drops a tool off the scaffold or lift or otherwise holds up a job or injures a co-worker)

As someone who still occasionally tries and fails to quit tobacco, I could only wish that was as easy (for me) as taking a cannabis break. Not too proud to admit I'm a a nicotine and caffeine addict, trying to keep the vices in control.

  15. @Vee ,Got any tips from your gleaning of tolerance literature?
I keep some CBD isolate around to dab when I just need to dab something. That doesn't help with sleep, but scratches an itch. I also have some antidepressants that I can take for a nights sleep most of the time.

  16. I quit for the same amount of time or so, one good bong rip or two and I’m high for a hour. Then I take another rip, I didn’t even finish the whole bowl pack and I’m using low to mid thc strains . [IMG]

  17. At times I've gone for about a year without smoking.

  18. One day I didn't smoke till after noon. Went back to starting before noon.

    Tis better that way...

  19. Any tips I quit for a year came back and after a week or two my tolerance is already back to we’re I’m not getting high.
So you quit for a few hours ?
Same here, I just don’t seem to get high anymore my weed might suck but with zero tolerance it should get me high.

  20. After any T break I just jump back in the deep end & get it over with :confused_2::smoking:
