Curly

  1. does anyone know if those curly energy saving flourescent lights will work enough to grow a few plants?

  2. yes, just be sure you have enough wattage per plant and that they're the right type for vegging and flowering.

  3. how many watts are required per plant?
and what do youy mean the right kind for vegging/flowering?
    they're white light,not yellow...

  4. 125 watt per a plant I believe and he means color temperature Kelvin. For growing sprouting you want 6500k day time bulbs. For Blooming the plant you want 2700k lights. Each stage of growth the plant uses a different light spectrum. You want to mimic the sun best as possible.

  5. Those "curly" lights are called CFL's, or compact fluorescent lights.

Although the "C" might stand for curly. That sounds cooler.

Anyways, if you look for stickies on CFL's, you'll find LOADS of stuff.
They use very little power, produce very little heat, are virtually silent, and plenty people on these forums grow with CFL's and nothing else.

  6. no offense, but if you have to ask if the "curly" type bulbs are good for growing then you obviously have done zero reading on the subject. do your homework, ask questions later.

  7. Agreed
