Why on a new seedling would one side of plant have curled leafs. Last time I had this I killed the two plants off. But thought I would ask before killing plant. RH 50+ just put it in coco ec 0.5 pH 5.9 feed once a day with 20 percent run off.
it's usually caused by high EC. Drop the EC to 0.2 using RO water. using only half the calmag and low to no nutes. btw bro, did I mention that I don't start seeds like this anymore? aeroponic-model-4z0-stoner-experiment-5263199-rev_3-a.2866132 if u have an aero cloner, I use this now almost all the time. Even for house plants.
I don't use calmag, I use three parts Master blend. Mix up my full strength in 5 gallon of water which is about 750 ppm. Then I take RO water and mix my solution in it until I get what I want. Master blend Epsom salts and calcium nitrate. I will feed it 200 ppm or EC- 0.4 and see what happens. Thanks
After looking around I do have some calmagic I can add to to water to get 100 ppm but I'm sure the pH won't be where I want it probably. But will check it out in morning at feeding time.
Whichever method, doesn't mean you need calmag. Just use what you use as long as it's balanced, I'm just using that as a reference for how to lower the EC is all. I know using full 1mL/L of 'calimagic' would raise the EC too high. So yea, just diluting would suffice in your case.
This little plant has not gotten any better, so I'm going to do a little experiment with it before I kill it off. Going to wash all coco from roots and put it in a bubbler bucket to see if roots grow and it turns around. I think it has a root problem so will see once I wash coco off.
Well it had about 4 inches of good roots so washed them off and put it in my bubble cloner . EC-270 PH-5.5 so in a few days I will see something happen. Could just be a bad plant but the other ones are doing ok for now. Water temperature says about 68 where I got it so should be ok.
When I start seeds in coconut, I don't water daily. In fact, I've noticed that younger plants tend to not like daily watering in coco. It doesn't seem like they can tolerate it until they've had ample time to build root mass. I don't even water big plants in coco daily. For one, it's too much work. Plus, it creates a ton of waste water for no reason. The internet spun coconut as this thing you can keep constantly wet all of the time without ill effect. I really think it benefits to have some drying period especially for younger plants. Once they get bigger and more robust, it's probably fine to constantly water if that's what you want.
Yes once my seed sprouts I put it in coco and perlite with 20 percent run off. I start in a 1 liter air pot then go to 3 gallon air pot. Here's my last plant with no problems, like I said could just be a bad plant but I'm going to find out with in a week.
