Curling/Drooping Cotyledons? Growth has slowed significantly

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by CorpAmerica, Feb 5, 2010.

  1. Hi Everyone,

Germed my first seeds in quite a while (easy ryders) with the paper towell method. All seeds popped within 3 days and were transplanted into 1" rockwool cubes. They are now in approximately their 3rd day in the rockwool and im starting to get concerned. The Cotyledons are drooping or curling downwards and the plants growth rate has slowed significantly.

I currently have them under 2 23w daylight CFL's, but can move them under my 600 hps @ 30" at any time. I have not yet moved them because I wanted to make sure there was good root development before moving over to they hydroton. At this point there is about .75" of taproot sticking out of the bottom of the 1" cubes on all of the plants, which has run into the bottom of the tupperware they are in.

I dont think this is overwatering (Ph adj. RO water), ive been giving them at least a 2 days between adding water to the rockwool and checking to make sure of its dampness. I put some cling wrap back over the tupperware because I thought it might be a humidity issue, but come this morning the humidity looks high (condensation) but he plants are still drooping. Should I go ahead and move them to the 600w / hydroton drip system asap? or what do you thinks going on?

    Thanks
    -Corp

  2. dude your plants are fine. but it could be overwatering since rockwool holds alot of moisture.

  3. Ditto.

Hold off on watering for an extra day or two, at least with one of them, so you can further diagnose the issue.
