Curing humidity

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Novice nana, May 11, 2023.

  1. I'm curing my first harvest, and need some help. I've read that jar humidity should be between 55-65 %. Do I use the wet bulb or RH measurements? I really want to get this right. TIA

  2. Assuming the dry/hang is decent putting them in a jar without any dry pack (here), the humidity is gonna be changing. That's why you open the jars daily at first to let out humidity. I usually add a 62% dry pak around 3-6 months for long term storage. (2-3 yrs so far) I don't measure :poop: for a few plants.

  3. I'm in AZ so our humidity is low. I have a digital thermo-hygrometer that shows both RH and wet bulb. I'm not sure which reading to use. I expect to only use a small amount and will be storing most of this long term. I'm stressed about mold and need advice on how to proceed with curious... I'm a total novice. Can you break down the curing/humidity process for me?

  4. University of u-tube should be adequate for a start. Others from Az could help u better. :passing-joint:

  5. I've only herd RH, wet bulb sounds too scientific.

Been years since I've grown but curing is an art much like growing. Mold grows between what 75%-95%RH.

  6. Thank you!

  7. 75- 95% rh, does it reach that high in Az when it rains? ;)

  8. Hang em til the stems snap... i never check humidity levels until a jar them..

  9. That's what I did. My jars are averaging 57% humidity.

  10. remember to sweat them when they reincorporate

  11. "Sweat them"??? please elaborate.

Jar them until the humidity goes back up to distribution even ,, then pour the buds out rearrange them and dry more.. depending on the humidity, jar them up for curing. Shooting for humidity levels between 60-65 rh to start cure. burp them every so often also depends on humidity levels between 65-60 (62 is optimal)

  13. That's the exact advice I need! Thank you

  14. Pretty much zactly what I do without a rh meter. Pour them out over a "trim bin" type screen to catch/sift the kief.
