So I am going to cut my plant in the next few days and I really don't have a good area to cure or hand the branches. So I am going to use mason jars and/or tupperware. How long would I have to "burp" it for? How long do I leave it open(minutes hours?), How many days a week? Any help is appreciated EDIT: Also my GF, friends and I who will be trimming are going to use these trimmers. Any other recommendations or are these good enough. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FISKARS-Shortcut-Classic-Thread-Snip-Scissors-ORANGE-stainless-steel-NEW-/390846615338?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b00460f2a
I let mine air out 5 - 10 min. 2 Times a day, maybe 3 for the first week. How long you cure is your call. I am quite patient and go about a month. Some people only go a few days or a week. Those trimmers should do just fine. Scrape the blades when ya finish up for some nice scissor hash hope that helps
Thanks for the reply, I'm just really worried about curing this way. I know some people go up to a month. Patients is a virtue. Anyone else with experience?
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=3112013#post3112013 One of the better dry/cure threads.. http://forum.grasscity.com/outdoor-grow-journals/1245053-american-dream-white-picket-fences-marijuana-so-cal-sun.html?view=findpost&p=20084087 My own Holy Grail of dry and cure.. It really comes down to your local conditions to fine tune your dry and cure.. I'm in So Cal and working in a very hot very dry garage.. I trim really close just seconds off the plant while all the leafs are standing tall.. Even 30 mins off the plant will wilt past the point I like to work.. Hang from the line time is real short here.. A day or 3 max usually or just until the buds start to stiffen when compressed slightly.. Then clipped from the branches and into cut down paper shopping bags.. Next stage I use an Ice Chest or rubber maid tub or a few new clean trash cans depending on how much I'm drying.. The whole Idea here is to slow the dry down so I don't wind up with crispy trash that stinks like mowed lawn clippings.. Gradually dropping the humidity in the container to the mid 60s.. I'll rotate the bags in and out of the chest daily stirring the buds in the bag several times a day to even out the dry by exposing new buds.. Drying weed is like cooking a steak.. You only get one shot at it.. Over done is over dry.. No do overs it's burnt.. Mid 60s is your target Humidity.. Once this is reached roughly a week it should take I jar in 1/2 gallon mason jars with a 62% Boveda humidity pack and your done.. No burping required the way I do it.. Your product is already stable at 62% This is just what I've worked out over the last several years to get a high quality grade smoke.. Your own local temps and humidity will play a huge part in how you approach your own dry.. This 40% humidity reading is normal in my garage and just a few moments before closing the chest up for the night.. Half gallon jars with 60 gram / 62% Boveda humidity packs Edit:: Denatured alcohol found in the paint dept of larger box stores is the best for keeping scissors and hands clean.. I'll keep an open jar to dip scissors in and a few paper towels soaked in it for sticky hands..
