Curing Buds, Seem To Be Getting More Moist?

  1. Hi all, so I dried my buds out for abouy 5 days by hanging them in a coll dry, dark area until the stem made a 'snap' noise, so ive put the buds in a air tight glass jar to cure and when I checked them today they seem to be getting more moist than anything. Is this s normal?

  2.
    yup it sure is..

the moisture from the inner part of the bud and stem is coming out..

you wanna leave the jar open and let them dry out again.. you'll have to do this daily until they dry properly. Time will vary based on your humidity, and the size/density of the buds.

  3. Ah okay, so do I always leave the jar open or only for a few minutes a few times a day?

  4. I'd say about 5 mins for the first few days, gently move the buds about aswell if a big bit of bud is resting on the same spot for too long mould can develop.

  5.
i'd leave it open till they feel dry again.. you'll have to do it for less and less time each day, and eventually not at all :)

  6. Ah right cheers for the info lads, will curing bring out the smell at all? My weed currently smells of cucumbers lol

Yeah curing is what brings out the smell, It's the starches turning into sugars or so I read. Saying that the bud I hung for 2 weeks had a more potent smell then the bud that was jar cured for 2 weeks but both were from different plants, same strain.

  8. Hmm interesting, how long does it take for it to start to smell. Im getting worried lol

  9. Not to sure dude I'm only on my second grow, id imagine around 1 week but with growing there are hundreds of variables. A standard cure in a jar is around 4-8 weeks.

  10. Im confused, so when it gets mosit in my jar .. open the lid and let it stand for a few hours for it to dry out again and then repeat the process?

  11. Your buds are most likely not ready to go into the jar yet. Five days drying is a little short for a drying period. Let it dry out until You're able to break open a bud and not see ANY signs of moisture. Then once there is no moisture You can start the jar process. Open it twice or once a day for a minute or five to release the very little built up moisture.

Once You see NO moisture being released You can keep it tight for how ever You want, unless You don't want to cure it.

  12. The amount of time it takes for anything to dry out depends on your ambient humidity. Nobody can tell you how long it takes for your bud to dry, all we can do is tell you what to look for and the proper response to current conditions. I've had branches hanging for 2 weeks during a few bad storms, other times my bud is ready for the jar after 4 days, don't listen to anybody who tells you to do something for X amount of time when it comes to drying.

  13. If they are very moist, put them in a paper bag for a day then put them back into the jar.

  14. I believe my buds are dry enough for the jar, they are only small buds and the stems were making a nice 'snap' before I put them in the jar
