cure or not to cure

    i've picked a fresh bud from my oldest plant, trying to test it out.
    whats the fastest way to turn that fresh bud into smokeable bud?
    how long would i have to leave it in a jar? should i dehydrate it a bit?
    any and all input here would be appreciated.

    ive heard about the microwave thing but i refuse to do that..

    you could throw it on the back of your monitor, thats a method i have done in the past, or stick it on top of your modem if you have an external one. ive found the bud to dry in as little as 12 hrs. the best dry time has been around 48hrs, very "green" tasting, but it gets the job done.

    not really desperate, just curious as to the potency, and how much longer i have til i can harvest...
    approx 70% of the white hairs have turned brown.
    i've been leaving in a dehydrater for about 2 hours, then putting it in a glass jar overnight, then i just put it back in the dehydrater for another 2 hours. im gonna test it out tonight.
    hopefully wont be too bad, i did notice it became pretty flimsy, i can flaten the bud with ease.

    its not very dense :(

    just dry it out, throw it in a jar for afew days, opening the jar about 15minutes a day (as oposed to afew hours a day for normal curing)... and you should be set..

    i'd get one of those jewelers loupes and look at the trichomes, if most of them are cloudy your safe to harvest... i beleive most strains are more heady when harvested early, but im not sure on that one, since i like to harvest later... :smoking:

    i tell ya, that was a nice treat of the things to come... i dehydrated it, on and off for a day, smoked it a midnight new years eve, and i'll be a monkeys uncle...

    i'm growing good shit.
    this is my first complete grow, and i'm very impressed at the tiniest bud i could pick off my plant has done to me.

    i smoked maybe half a gram, in a single bowl, blazed to perfection!
    the ganja smoked very slowly and very smooth....
    do premature plants smoke so smooth? is it the way i dried it out?
    i've never smoked good bud like that without a single cough.

    can someone tell me if my plants are nearly ready to be hacked?

    That plant looks to me like it has some nice Sativa heritage going on. This will be a great treat once it is done flowering but it may take longer to finish then expected. If possible, go out and get yourself a nice magnifying glass so you can see the cloudiness of the trichomes. This will allow you to really tell with certainty if your plants are ready to be chopped.

    looking at your most recent pics, i'd say you've probably got a couple weeks to go, put go buy a cheap ass magnifying glass (i prefer my 90x jewelers loupe, but the damn thing cost a bit) or even a cheap microscope will do ok... but usually when the stigmas start to turn brown or red (although with so many different strains they could be any color) and most of the tric's turn opaque, then start to turn amber, your pretty safe to harvest... although i'd harvest 1 plant about a 1 - 1 1/2 weeks later than the rest just to try the different type of high...

    i agree, i say anywhere between 3-4 weeks, possibly longer if it is sativa dom

    I've tried sweating it for air drying or water curing for a quick test.

    Sweating is basically wrapping dry paper towel then slightly damp around that an shoving it in a bag on a monitor/near a heater. Water cure is as simple as it gets... toss it in water get something pushing it under the water and drain it every day or when it starts turning brownish. After 7 days of this you should have pale bud that can be stuck in a dehydrator with it's heating eliment wires snipped/unpluged. Or any other quick dry method...just keep an eye as it goes too dry fast as fuck if it's airy bud.

    well if you have found seeds in the bud I would harvest there producing seeds instead of thc thats my 5 cents worth,by the way lovely looking plants :smoke:
