My green-o-matic had formed a taproot around 2 days ago so I planted it in some soil. It's going to be an outdoor plant and since it's kind of sunny since it's spring in Australia I put it out in the sun on a wooden pole. I then laid a peice of glass on top of the foam cup to greenhouse it/keep it grounded. I had no idea that it was going to be windy last night and to my horror I found my cup of soil on the ground, glass was broken, not the cup though. Soil was spread out every where, I soon after searching found my seedling. I noticed the tap root had grown so much since I put it in there. The root/seed did not seem to be harmed at all, it looked kinda safe tucked into the soil. I just replanted it this morning in a new cup with new soil, do you guys think it will still grow? Any tips will be awesome cheers guys!
It's possible. Seedlings are meant to be dropped from a plant in the winter, sit all winter, then germinate in the summer. From there, the tap root does all the work to get into the soil and get set. As long as you didn't break any part of the plant, I don't see why it wouldn't be alright. Otherwise, it'll die and you'll get cancer.
