security system=gun? however silly a prank call may seem to a few of the posters here, it has been called to the man's attention that he should be ready to protect his family. OP has a child to think about. i don't get how seeing someone get killed over sneakers is even remotely comparable to a man wanting a gun to protect his family in the event of a break-in.
I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but there's websites where you can have an automated voices call people with a message you wrote. If you get a call from a creepy, robot sounding voice it's probably that, or someone looking for Sarah Connor.
