Could use help/ measurements (Topical makers)

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by WeedCat, May 8, 2019.

  1. Hi good folks. So, I got gifted some fairly fine trim. It almost looks like it's been ground to powder until you put some in your hand and it more like super tiny blades of grass and most likely flower. I just smoked a few puffs to see if it was potent medicine. Yes, was my conclusion.

Now, I've never used something so fine to make in to a butter. I imagine I need to use a lot less. And I should probably go by weight instead of measurement because it's so dense. I'm making a balm out of it but I imagine balms and edibles are around the same measurement.

Any ideas how much I should use? And decarbing will be the same time and degrees as a looser trim?

    Can't thank you enough!!!

  2. Potency of trim can vary a lot, but it's usually 30-50% as strong as flower.

  3. Good question on the decarb. I can't come up with any ideas other than a thin layer and I'm sure you've thought of that. I've decarbed hash oil in an oil bath but I don't know how hot you can get your butter before it changes character. I suppose if it can get to 240F you could first make your butter and decarb that.

  4. Thanks Cactus Ed! I always forget you can decarb after.
