I think in most states possession of a certain amount (definitely less than 8 oz) equals intent to distribute.

 

in california if you get busted 28.5 or over your charged with intent to sell...excuses dont really work.

soemtimes theyre assholes and theyll also weigh the bag. my friend got busted and they weighed the bag along with the weed and it came out to 28.3 he got lucky

Yeah excuses definitely don't work. I was just caught with a half ounce of dro in December in Florida. I know the laws in Florida is anything over an ounce is a felony. It's pretty cut and dry with the po po. If you have over a certain amount you're fucked.

over here in UK it can be a case of if they got no evidence to suggest dealing no proof. i got caught with 10 plants, 53 gram of dried buds, 2 hash joints and about 0.2 of a gram of hash, in court they said i had 10 gram of hash, and i said it was for medical use, got a real light sentence, conditional discharge and suspended sentence.

Yeah, I live in florida too, so I wouldnt risk buying more than a half (ounce) at a time. A half is quite a bit of weed, so you shouldn't really need more than that at a time if you aren't selling. If you could get away with a possession charge for a HP, trafficking would be easy. Cops and lawmakers aren't that stupid.
