Cotton Candy, Roadrunner, Super Cali Haze, Himalayan Blue Diesel

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by zpyro, Nov 6, 2010.

  1. Haven't been keepin up with journals lately, thought I'd start documenting again.

Last harvest was some Cotton Candy grown outdoors in soil. Got about 1.5oz out of one somewhat small plant. Despite being put outside relatively late, it still made some real nice bud. I really like this strain :smoke:

Unfortunately these two I have flowering are the last clones I have. I can get some more at the local club, in any case. The one before the soil grow was also DWC but had issues with overfeeding, fungus gnats and spider mites. This one seems to be going much better from the start.

I've been using Cutting Edge Solutions nutes, Micro, Bloom, Uncle John's and Plant Amp. Also started using SensiZym, and my roots have never looked better.

I also started using the Humboldt County's Own additives, Bushmaster, Snow Storm Ultra and Gravity. I used the Bushmaster on CC#2, but did not use it on CC#3. There is a noticeable difference in internode spacing, and #2 is shorter than #3. There has been a bit of leaf tip burn on #2 though, and after using the Bushmaster (only for 2 days, 1 week into flower) there was a bit of yellowing of the leaves. I started foliar feeding with the Snow Storm Ultra a couple of days ago.

Enough background, time for bud porn :hello:

CC#2 is front left, CC#3 front right. In the back l to r is the HBD, SCH and RR, all autoflowers. These got off to a slow start so aren't as big as they could be, but oh well.

    Field of Candy :D

CC#2 was put in the flower cab 10-4, so it's about 3-4wks along now. Looks pretty frosty already though

I think this is #3 but I didn't keep track, oh well

  2. you got a picture of the super cali haze? Whats your thoughts on that stain?

  3. I'm growing a super cali haze at the moment. Side by side with a Himalyan Blue Diesel. IMO, the SCH isn't great. Its very tall. One cola. The buds are taking FOREVER to mature. The HBD which I started at the same time is about 1/4 the size in height, much fatter and denser buds, and about another week to finish. As for the super cali haze, it is an auto no doubt, but I think it is like most sativas in that its very tall and takes quite a long time to finish. It seems it would be great for outdoors, but I wont be growing it indoors any time in the future. Didn't hurt it try it out, and I haven't sampled the smoke yet, so who knows, maybe it will be worth the wait and inconvenience of having to adjust lights etc to accommodate. My quick summary, if you can grow outdoors, then thats the way to go. If space and a quick finishing time are part of your objective, then I wouldn't bother with this strain.

The HBD on the other hand, seems to be absolutely perfect for indoors grows and those seeking shorter to average finishing times.

I will post a smoke report when I have sampled both.

  4. yo, how big was ur himmy mine was a dissapointing 10 inches dense ish nugs not a great amount though. my SCH is about the same size but weeks off finishing n they are in pretty big pots... short stuff is exactly what it says...

  5. Really? A Himalayan Blue Diesel too? I'm really fond of the strain super Cali haze and Himalayan blue diesel. Send me a msg please when you do a smoke report on the super Cali haze. So few people have grown that strain because it's so new. It would be awesome to get someones else's thoughts on that strain.

My HBD got off to a real slow start and is stunted, almost like a mini plant. Not much to speak of there. Smells good at least.

The SCH is getting some pretty decent sized buds on it, it has a more musky/lemony smell to it than the CC, which smells like candy. I'll get some pics of it next time I check em out. It's doing better than the RR, in the same system for what it's worth. I tie all of my plants down, but it is pretty lanky still. I didn't use any Bushmaster on the SCH, I used it only on the oldest CC and that one seems to be a little shorter/bushier but it's hardly a scientific test. I'm sure, if I let it grow normally, it would be pretty tall.

Here's a bunch of the CC that's about 8 weeks along now. It's gettin a bit chilly, bringin out that nice purple :D

  7. Alrighty well here's the SCH :hello: Sorry for the HPS light fucking up the color. As you can see, it did stretch out a bit but even still, the buds are fattening up nicely. They're about as fat as the 8wk CC, the SCH is at ~6wks

If anyone else comes across one of the r-tards who thinks "anything with ruderalis genetics is ditchweed," just show them these pics. :devious: Ditchweed my ass!!

    Low potency, right? LOL

And this is the veg cab. The sickly lookin ones are Blue Dream, came with a nice gift of root aphids  Got them under control for a couple of them but the one on the right is an ex-plant.

  8. So a bit has happened lately....the fuckin timer for my flower room left the light on when it was supposed to be off -.- Dunno if it was to blame but the SCH hermied. I pulled it early, mainly because I didn't want my Strawberry Choc Chunk to be pollinated @ 2 weeks of flowering.

Harvested the 2 Cotton Candy plants, haven't yet finished curing but will weigh it prob tomorrow. The SCH has some pretty decently fat buds despite being space out quite a bit on the branches, it's still drying.

Found out I had my veg room ballast turned down to 250w  No wonder I had such slow growth. Since turning it back up to 400W the plants are looking a bit perkier and are growing a bit more vigorously.

Transferred the Mohan Ram mother into flower last week and threw some Bushmaster in there (1ml/gal, 3 days), it's just now starting to show some early flowering signs. Started having issues with root rot for some reason

I've got a few MR clones in veg, put one in a pot of just Sure2Grow loose fill to see how it would do. Another 2 are in bubble buckets, and are starting to show some nice growth. Just earlier put some Blackberry clones into bubble buckets as well. Trying to feed them at higher concentration than I have been just to see if I've been in fact underfeeding them, will be tracking them carefully and have the light on 24hrs and full 400w (was 18/6 and 250w) so hopefully we can get this shit back on track :smoke:

  9. hey man nice grow!
im growing super cali haze outdoors this year, how did it turn out??

  10. I got 1.6oz off of it, was underfeeding it apparently. I have some Critical Super Silver Haze I just started flowering in my other thread (sig pic), not an autoflower but apparently finishes in 9-10 weeks :D
