  1. hi does any body no how to work out electricty cost of running 600watt hps ...i think this is the formula for working it out but not to sure so just say 600watt on for 12 hours a day for 1 month..
    600watt = 0.6khw x 360=216 x 8.894 "which is my unit cost" = £19.21 pound a month

  2. so,as u said 600w=0,6kW

    0.6*0.08894=xxx pounds each hour
    xxx * 12=yyy pounds each day ;)

    then 30*yyy=zzz pounds - month :)

    nothing else than maths ;)

  3. You take .6kw x 12. That is your daily usage in KWH.
    KWH x cost per KWH = daily usage cost.

  4. Npower in the UK charge 6.5p/KWH...so....

    Vegging 18/6 18 * 600W = 10800 W per day or 10.8 KW (1 KW = 1000W).
    10.8 * £0.065 = £0.70 per day.
    10 weeks vegging = 70 days.
    70 days = £0.7 * 70 = £49.

    Then...10 weeks flowering at 12/12 =
    12 * 600W = 7200W per day = 7.2KW per day.
    7.2 * £0.065 = £0.468
    10 weeks = 70 days
    70 * £0.468 = £32.76

    So overall...

    10 weeks vegging = £49
    10 weeks flowering = £33
    Total = £82 for 20 weeks growing.

    Less than the cost of an ounce!!!

    Happy days...I've just been thinking of switching to a 600W so these calculations were quite helpful.

    Obviously the price might change a bit due to supplier so to standardise it....
    10 weeks veg = 70 * 10.8KW = 756 KW
    10 weeks flowering = 70 * 7.2 KW = 504 KW

    756KW + 504KW = 1260 KW per grow.

    Now multiply that number by however many pence per KW your supplier charges you and there is your answer...good for any country.
