I figured Id start a thread too to help show case my work. For the most part I shoot digital but I do shoot 120mm film from time to time. The last photo from the series you first posted was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful. I love abstract compositions. What medium format gear are you using right now? Digital? EDIT: I'd probably try making your black-and-white studio shots more dramatic in terms of lighting. The light setup you have right now is really high-key and seems more suitable for commercial/product photography. Maybe try just using a one-light setup and/or some more dramatic lighting ratios - some more mysterious lighting could of really set that shot off. IDK, sometimes "perfectly" lit photos really look too clinical and plain.
Nice photographs. Personally, I don't really like photos with people in them, unless they carry some message. But I agree with *ColtClassic*, the last one is visually appealing. I think giving them titles would be nice, too.
thank you for the tips with the lighting. Been a long while since ive done anything indoors with lights and what not so this was kind of a "getting back into it" thing. I have a RollieCord TLR as my medium format. I dont ever title my photos because I want the viewer to see their own story within the photograph. I dont want to tell them what to see. When I first started shooting I was all about nature photography and was always afraid to photograph people. But once I did it, I fell in love with it. The one thing I would LOVE to do with my photography is fashion/couture
But fashion photography leaves so little room for creativity. Most of the time you are told to photograph certain outfits, then you have an art director tell you what kind of shot they need and how to set up everything, then you have an assistant set up all of the lights and then you get to take some photos of everything already set up while telling the model to look "cute". Fashion photography is like the color-by-numbers genre of photography, sorry to say. I was actually talking about the photo of water....
Not if you are your own boss I wouldnt ever want to do that kind of work honestly. Ive worked with a couple fashion photographers locally who do their own shoots with their own models and own locations and its freakin awesome. The only other person there was the hair and make up artist and he did what the photographer told him to do. They all had models pay top dollar to be shot by them

I've visited your thread every time it was updated, but somehow never caught the photo of the lighthouse and sunset. I absolutely love it! I love photos where the sky completely dominates the subject.
thanks guys! been busy with trying to get my motorcycle on the road so I havent been doing much in terms of photography but I am planning a couple big shoots here soon. Untitled by SoulfulRecover, on Flickr Untitled by SoulfulRecover, on Flickr
