Cordless Rechargeable Dehumidifier

Discussion in 'Harvesting and Processing Marijuana' started by Kingy18, Apr 29, 2019.

  1. I have a cupboard in my kitchen that I want to use to dry my product in. Whilst I've been growing I kept a hydrometer in there to monitor the humidity and temperature. On average my reading are 21*C or 71*F (I think this is fine) and humidy stays at about 58%. I want to to try and bring this down to just under 50%. To my question, has anyone every used products like what i'll show below.

The idea is that they have salts in them that absord and when there full you rechage them with electric to heat/dry them out again.

Or shall i just chuck a few big boveda 49% packs in my cupboard?

Any opinions would be appreciated x Screenshot_20190429-212358_Amazon%20Shopping.jpg

Those things are for closed off gun cabinets, safes, closets, etc where theres no air flow. They will not work where theres airflow like a grow space. I have some in my gun cabinets and have tried them in small grow spaces. It did nothing as they will not keep up with the fresh air coming in. By the way you are not recharging them when you plug them in. They heat up which dries the moisture, it doesnt happen quickly. Usually takes the ones I have in my safes over night. You would be plugging yours in daily without being in a sealed environment and they still wouldn't keep up

Your humidity is fine. I grow in higher humidity all summer long.

Bovedas definitely wouldn't work. 1st off you would need a ton of them. 2nd you would need a sealed environment in order for them to work. That means no fresh air for your plant and everytime you open the door the bovedas would have to start over again bringing the humidity back in check. It takes time for a boveda to regulate a sealed jar, a grow space would never happen.

  3. Thanks for the response, I think i will just put a small desk fan in there then to keep the air flowing. Right now the humidity is 55%, but i was slightly concerned putting all of the fresh flowers in there would bump it up to over 65%.

  4. Why not just leave the door ajar until it gets close to curing time? Putting wet buds in your cupboard will add a lot of humidity, I'd be concerned about it being too much for your little doodad to handle, too much for boveda also. Those are more for keeping the humidity steady. Put a little fan in there too, a large computer fan hooked to a battery or power supply should work good enough.
Or a small desk fan. :)
