I'm tired of fucking hearing this. MOST officers of the law just want to do their jobs. Most just want to put in their 9-5, go home, and eat supper with their family. They're not out to get you. In fact, they could probably give two shits about you, since you breaking the law equals more work for them. Cops are willing to step in and take a fucking bullet so the streets can be safe, and for that reason most of them deserve our respect. Now, there are the bad apples. There are the ones that claim to "smell marijuana in your vehicle". And yes, to those cops...fuck you. There are SOME cops that are out to get the "no good pot heads". And yes, to those cops...fuck you. But... I think it's important to know that most of the officers that patrol our streets are doing nothing more but making sure we're safe the majority of the time. I'm tired of hearing people (mostly dumbass kids) insulting cops every chance they get. If I see a cop when I'm on the street (and not dirty haha) I usually smile and nod. Sometimes they say hello, and sometimes they look at my with suspicion. All in all I'm a good citizen though, and would be more than happy to help an officer if they ever needed it (not a snitch though ). Please stop with the hatred. Gangs would be running your street if it weren't for them. Show some respect!
I agree for the most part with your post OP. One thing I do have to say is that I don't like hypocritical cops (or hypocritical people for that matter lol). As in, they smoke but they go around busting people for smoking. Or the cops that believe in legalization, but would still crack down on MJ. I realize that their jobs are to enforce the laws and not interpret them, but I feel that your personal morals (i.e. marijuana should be legalized) supersede the law in that case.
I'm really glad to see that your title is sarcastic because I was about to disagree with you. I assumed it was a silly teenager. I've had good and bad experiences with cops. I am sure that quite a few of them smoke pot themselves. In small towns where nothing really happens it's more likely you'll be in a situation where the cop wants to bust you. In most bigger cities the cops have bigger things to worry about than a someone peacefully toking away.

I once crashed my sportbike and had 2 cops come who were laughing and just having a good time while an ambulance was there, my bike smashed into a car full of asians, And i lost some skin on my arm They asked me "You have a license" While smiling and looking tipsy, I said "YEa, He smiled even more and said "YOu have Insurance?' i said yea, I gave it to him and he walked out laughing, stops to his partner outside, They both laugh extremely hard for no reason and continue writing a report Needless to say i knew they were drunk.
Yeah I've got an overly paranoid friend who always rants about the police. That said, he dresses like a bit of a target and he's so paranoid that generally any time he's even NEAR a cop he'll act so suspicious that they're even MORE likely to target him. (he's seriously helicopter guy) But yeah...for a guy who's never been in any kind of trouble in his life, he's really anti police, fuck them, fuck that, I heard this etc etc...at one point I got so sick of it and just told him to shut the fuck up. Told him "these are the people that might actually HELP you if you're in some trouble", reminded him they'd never even went after him even after all his bullshit, and generally speaking unless you ARE acting like some kind of asshole MOST cops will not hassle you. There ARE the odd exceptions, the bored fuckwit cops who will stop ANYONE so much as walking at night "just because", but generally speaking unless you're engaging in criminal activity or you're an openly disrespectful cockead to them, they'll more often than not simply pass you by... I myself respect what they do, and the only law I don't see eye to eye with is to do with weed...but it's not like they create those laws is it?
Quit trolling dude. You're probably the reason why we need cops. If you're ever being shot at by a group of gang members and a cop comes to your rescue maybe you'll change your mind.
The last time i called the cops because there was a guy trying to start shit with me, They never came. I eventually told the guy i was going to kill him and he just quit the bullshit.
they are after you. they have quotas to make.if they dont bring in any arrests then their supervisor will begin to wonder what theyre doing on the job and figure that they arnt doing their job.. they racially profile and stereo type people in order to get arrests. yeah i have no doubt there's cops thatll let you go for smoking herb, but most of them will bust you when they have the chance. cops get promoted and given performance checks by there sergeants..the more arrests, the more "work" it seems they are doing. as long as cannabis is illegal, be smart with your shit.
There is a downfall to cops in certain places too, I found that smaller towns have less crooked cops than in bigger cities. There are also asshole cops who can be assholes and 'try-to-be-toughs'... yet most police are decent, square individuals trying to make an honourable living.
Sorry to say dude but quotas aren't used anymore. In fact in some states they're illegal. Hopefully an officer that reads this can verify.
they can say whatever they want to the public. you think if a station is low on arrests, the people in charge are going to keep funding the station? of course cops are gona get bitched at by their superiors and pressure them to bring in as many as they can to stay out of the radar. trust me man.the system is crooked. watevs. just my 2 cents from life experience.
Oh, I know its crooked. Its gotta be crooked. But the more arrests and tickets the cops makes, the more crime appears to be in the community. Then the station is under the impression that they need to hire more enforcement. And then they start worrying about labor, wages, etc...all that jazz. They can't just hand out tickets like candy, their whole branch would go down the toilet.
I'm sure there are good cops out there, but in the area I live all I've ever met are egotistical pricks who are too lazy to anything that'll put them in danger. I've met good, nice, reasonable polive officers in different cities which makes me kind of sad that Liverpool is full of scum. In the bar I worked in the city centre they stood next to the square and watched someone beat the shit out of his girlfriend and when we went over to ask themm to do something they threatened to arrest us. the problem most people have is that cops are the people who take their weed away. It's a job they chose to do to support a system that is broken and fucked. Is it realy hard to understand why stoners generally don't like cops?
Personally I've had a lot of encounters with police officers. I recently got arrested, when I say "fuck the police" or something people take that as I am saying fuck this guy for doing his job. When in fact I'm not, I understand it's their job. But I'm pretty sure when you arrest someone you aren't suppose to slap them, or call them a fag, and a number of other names. That is why I say fuck them. Was with a few friends, none of us was saying who had the stash, so the officer started calling us faggots. And he grabbed me by the neck and told me to hand him the fucking stash before he shoots my ass. In those words too. So therefore, I say fuck them.
See...it's a shame that there's still cops like that out there. They give a bad name to the true men and women that are protecting us. I'd like to see reasonable people only make it into law enforcement. But it seems that we are forever stuck with the pricks that somehow make it into that line of work
No doubt. I've only met one cop who wasn't disrespectful or none of that. He was my neighbor, was a sheriff. Besides him though I have yet to meet a cop that didn't get in your face, spit at you, or call you names. Maybe Phoenix, Arizona just hosts a gang of corrupt police officer, dunno.
