I have my hopes up Our minister of justice is from a conservative party. He was a member of the conservative youth party where he was the front man of their plan to legalize. However, they dropped the idea when they found out that you can psychotic from it, which isn't true. The only hope would be for us to get a socialistic government like we had in the 90's.

We had an election in 2007, so it's not until 2011 unless our prime minister says it's time for one. That's what happened in 2007 and I hope it'll happen again soon; in our last election the right-wing won a 52%/48% victory. [edit] Oh, and you should definately come visit - even though it's illegal it's easy to find. Thought you meant the dip brand for a second, I was like thats wierd what are they growing cannabis and tobacco now? But yeah news to me that cannabis was tolerated in Denmark, guess that gets majorly overshadowed by Netherlands.
Well, our drug policy differs from yours in many ways and has so for many years: All illicit drugs has the same level of illegality; cannabis is as illegal as heroin, coke, LSD, Salvia (yes, that's illegal for some reason) and so on. Any amount of hash or weed below 50 grams, the limit between 'personal use' and 'intend to sell', will give you a fine of 500 DKK (about $100) if the cops arrest you with it on you. I don't really know the punishment for higher amounts but I know you can go to jail for selling. It's totally legal to be under the influence of any illicit drug, only selling, buying and posessing is illegal; that way you won't have to fear the authorities (hospitals, shrinks etc.) if you have a drug related problem. Usually, if you're caught with small amounts of cannabis, the cops won't bother fining you so they usually just confiscates it and destroys it (or smoke it themselfs, lol) and nothing happens.
