Cooling lights by blowing air over or sucking it out?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by GeraldsFinest, Mar 19, 2019.

  1. Ive been researching this and it seems I cant make up my mind what to do. some people say to blow fresh air over the hoods and some say to suck the hot air out. Can an experienced grower with knowledge about this subject try to clear things up for me? Thanks

  2. you'll want to do both, air circulating throughout the grow area and you also want/need to vent old/hot/stale air

  3. generally the deal is passive air in

    leaving a Fan that

    sucks the old air out

    good luck

ps that way it takes the smell and heat out too

  4. Air path should be starting at the bottom flaps at the tent

Vents > Tent > Hood > Piping > Filter outside tent > Fan last and sucking.

This makes all your smelly possible leaks on the suction side and it'll always be pulling through the filter. Won't have any uncontained stinks set up this way. The fan doesn't care if it's pulling or pushing. Same load on the fan bearings either way. Even with no filter it's the best way as it gets the fan out of the tent so it's not taking up valuable tent real estate.
