I went hiking in the woods today to see if i could find any cool stuff. My brother and I found a deer hunting stand in a tree and an old broken down half pipe in the woods. This half pipe was legit too. It was like 8 feet tall. This stuff was cool although I had really high hopes for something even cooler. What i really hope to find one day is an abandoned house to explore. So if you've discovered and cool things in the woods, feel free to share.
An abandoned Volkswagen Beetle It was mostly rotten and rusted, but the seats were there. The frame and most of the metal was intact but pretty dented. The engine cover (in the back, remember) was in the best overall condition and my brother and I hauled it back to our summer cottage, which is near where we were hiking. This was about ten or eleven years ago.
I too have also found an abandon volkswagon beetle. This one was flipped onto it's roof, in the middle of the woods, down a huge hill. I also found this old tree fort I tried to knock down for a few years as a little kid, but could never get it down.
The are several deer skeletons scattered in the woods behind my house...they're way overpopulated in my area.
-I am part of my state's search and rescue group and we've found a dead kid before, it's nothing to joke about... On a happier note: -A bike that was sticking out of the ground. The bike was sticking up at a 90 degree angle and it was half way embedded. It was extremely rusty and there were also small plants around it which leads me to infer that it's been there for awhile. -A used condom. LOL -Random people that were toking.
spent most of my life in the woods! have found tons of shit! lived in alot of place .... found all kinds of junk- cars trucks bicycles - there was a place we found an old vw junk yard out in the woods long dirt road going to it...must have 70-80 old vws out there? find lots of feathers and bones of every kind lots of hunting stands and a few cabins in one place we found an old shack way out in the forest with no road going to it at all- had a huge grill set up and tables....and a sine that says Italian restaurant in some places i have found old family grave yards .....with dates from the 1700's
up in the north woods of minnesota, my friends and i were taking a short canoe trip upriver one summer. we came across these two old tree stumps on the banks of the river that had been carved (expertly) into thrones, with norse runes and some bitchin' patterns carved into them we concluded that they probably make for some great fishing chairs other than that i've found a lot of cool stuff in the woods, traps, boots/clothes, a rusty shotgun, decrepit shacks, bedframe + mattress, treestands, rope, nails and tools, a real scythe (in a state park of all places ), animal bones and stuff, animal skulls, but sadly no grow ops yet
Forgot to add -A small slab of concrete with a working door on the top of a bare hill. The scene made it look like it was some portal. After inspecting it and going through it several times we concluded that it was just a door that some idiot put up on the top of a hill. It was pretty cool though.
I forgot to add that I've found the foundation of two barns or something in the middle of the woods. In one of them there was a cows skull. And I didn't find this in the woods, but when I was a little kid I found a huge amount of porn magazines thrown into a ditch. Like two big garbage bags full. I brought them to this old tree fort that was in the woods near my house (right beside the two sets of foundation or whatever) and kept them there.
This is a great thread. I find critters in the woods. I found a tree frog in the woods once; and a shrew, which was cool. I caught the shrew in the snow and took it home. It got loose in the house and disappeared.
