"Cooking" the organic soil mix

  1. So after you make the soil and mix in all the good stuff in, do you need to keep it moist for a month until it's done cooking? Or do you just let it be for 4-6 weeks?

  2. Make sure to turn it/mix it around whenever you get a chance.

  3. I took someone's advice from a while back and I just let it sit for approx 2-3 weeks and then I turn it. I mostly do it this way just to see some fungal growth on it and also to keep them (the fungal strands) intact. Some will turn it right from the start though...I dont think that it will be too detrimental to either route...Im sure that somebody will come along that could talk on it better.

  4. Yes, keep it moist .

  5. And turn it if you feel like really motivated.

If not, it still gets where it's going to go, once you moisten it.

    Wet

  6. Also keep in mind, 4 weeks is like a minimum my next batch I'm gonna let sit for a few months
