Continuing the Experiment......

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by skyclad69, Jun 29, 2020.

  1. Back once again with a question regarding my ongoing experiment with edibles.. I'm still trying to figure this out for my best personal experience, and it's a situation that's constantly in flux it seems.. If it's not the variability of the herb itself, its the sometimes forgotten variable of mindset and current physical condition that changes as well and alters outcome....
All of that said, and getting to the most basic level here........if I were to decarb some weed, sift it and put into capsules ........would that simple procedure absorb very well in the gut, or would it be best to wash one or two down with a cup of milk, etc. to assist in the absorption..?? Looking for general suggestions/info here..
As a side note, I have tried making caps using lecithin previously.. While impressive, for me personally that was a bit intense.... I'm looking for the slowBurn all day kind of thing.. The lecithin seemed to superCharge it a bit more than I was expecting...
I'm shooting for something like the vibe of "Slow Turkey" on the Chantix commercial.......if you know what I mean....
Thanks in advance for any info...!

  2. @bmw is the guy for this

    mention that magic word 'Lecithin'

    good luck

  3. Yes, I believe this was the guy that introduced me to the lecithin capsules awhile back.. Some strong stuff...! For me personally at this stage of the game (not in my 20's or 30's anymore...) was looking for something a bit less intense.. Still wondering how I might refine my ohSo basic decarbed and capped weed..
Just a side note here.. The reason I'm trying this approach is due to hearing about THC being lost in the butterMaking process.. I do realize there might now be an "absorption" issue with what I'm doing.. Would welcome any thoughts and comments..

  4. in truth I rarely use eat atables these days as its such a hassle keeping track of the dosage

many buddies come up with various comments good and bad on my butter made cookies
of what I put down to controlling the dose

I also don't carboxulate as I believe as a vapor user that thc is killed dead at anything above 355F

also we are dealing with THC-A(in ru) which is a very low percent compared to the THC-B thats abundant?

I urge you to try toking weed cooked at 355F their is nothing ...no hit anything

so how does that corrolate to cooking cookies at about the same temp (citation needed as they say on wiki)

    sorry for my spelling

    cheers

  5. THC-a is the more abundant in harvested cannabis before it's smoked or otherwise modified. As far as I know there is no THC-B, C or D. There is Delta-8, Delta-9,Delta-10, etc but those play no part in the activation. The "a" in THC-a stands for "acid" and it's the acid form of the cannabinoid.

When you activate the cannabis you don't take your heat above 250F, if you're smart, and that removes the acid and leaves you with THC without the "a". Above 270F the THC will begin to breakdown but anything less won't affect it.

You would only go to 355 or higher when you make edibles and that temperature is deceiving. It's completely different than heating for decarb because in decarb you're exposing your material directly to the open heat but with edibles you have it inside other ingredients. If you're making brownies at 375F or cookies, the internal temperature will barely make it up to 200F. This keeps your cannabis protected. :)
