Contemplating approaching my doctor about MM?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by GNJ Aristocrat, Jan 5, 2011.

  1. At the end of the day, everyday, around 10-11 p.m, my neck starts to hurt and continues to ache until I lay down to sleep. The pain takes place in the centre of my lower neck. Regularly, accompanied by the neck pain, I will feel (what I can best describe) as a pinching on either side of my neck joint, like my muscles are very tense. I really dislike taking medecine which includes acetomenophines, because they are hard on the liver and especially since I would need to be taking a fair amount everyday. (I reject taking medecines anyways, unless mandatory.) I have to rest my head on something to support it, because holding it upright really aggitates it. I have never been in a major car accident, nor have I (knowingly) recieved whiplash. I can deal with pain pretty well, but this is very much an annoyance because it is consistent and daily. I do conciously make an effort to better my posture, and to keep my neck straight.. Unfortunately this hasn't helped either. I do smoke regularly, also have smoked solely for the "numbing" effect it has on my neck.

Would this be worth explaining to my doctor? I really don't know anything about the qualifications; but I really need a solution.

  2. If you are in Canada, it isn't going to be easy, like in California. I would suggest that you pop on over to treatingyourself.com , a nice CANADIAN MMJ site. If you can get legal, they will know how.

Be sure to check out the online issues of their magazine- truly superior! :smoke:

  3. Thanks, I will definitely have a look at that.

Ya honestly doesn't sound like your condition comes even remotely close to prescribing standards of MMJ in Canada but hey it's worth looking into it can't hurt, but a little neck pain an hour a day just sounds like u sleep in the wrong positon constantly cause you said it's only between 10-11pm that doesn't sound like an ailment even requiring more than a heating pad honestly....and no taking 4-6 tylenol a day won't harm your liver at all when in reality your prolly hurting your neck more by not taking any tylenol.Yes i know it isn't the best medication for relief but in your circumstances u can even go buy tylenol 1 otc in canada and codeine would far better dull your pain than marijuana and it's something you don't have to try and get like i said your condition doesn't even really seem to require anything more than a heating pad and the doctor more than likely would label you as drug seeking. Why because marijuana is used for cancer and terminal illness such as HIV/AIDS and other such chronic DEBILITATING illness in canada, your not in cali where u can say i was having trouble sleeping and bam ur legal. Other than that if your pain tolerance is relatively good, i would imagine if a 15 year old high school girl can manage having a period every month without marijuana i think your hour a day neck cramp will be ok.

  5. 4-6 tylenol a day, is defs not goo for your liver justnblaze, i know you know that hahahaha, its not like drinking 4-6 beers a day, but its not going to benefit you in anyway..... those drugs aren t designed to treat, they are designed to put the pain aside for a while, and let you do some shit, so it can just come right back!!!! SO ANNOYING hahahaha.

@op i think it sounds like you need a nice long massage imho, supplimented by a huge bowl of a heavy indica hahahahahahahah

  6. Trust me i wish med marijuana was just that easy to get and yes i know 4-6 tylenol isn't good but a lot of people would argue it's no different than smoking pot. Another thing is while it doesn't technically treat it does help heal because of it's anti-inflammatory abilities =). And yes i know most doctors even when your in severe severe pain trust me most are opiophobes which mean they will undertreat pain so your more than likely going to be thrown off and told to take some ibuprofen and wear some icy hot patches, unfortunate but that's the way it is. Like i said best bet is taking some codeine for the pain for now which is otc in canada and doing some neck excercise and stretching to help it heal then just stop takin the med when ur done.

And yes a heavy indica with a high CBD content would do you largely good if you could get it =).

  7. Damn dude, if someone tried to argue with me that 4 tylenols is the same as smoking weed, i would get really frustrated hahahaha. One, can kill you, in an overdose, leads to kidney and liver issues (if abused), and can cause massive blood issues, while the other, doesnt do anything to you at all, besides mild lung damage, which is avoidable :) hahahahahahaha

Seriously.. I would never consider taking T's consistently, knowing how bad the concequences are for your body.
@justnblaze - Don't act like you know my condition, it's pretty ignorant and you just come off sounding like an idiot for speaking out of your ass. Lol, one hour a day... I go to bed in the early morning hours, 5-6am. And, like said, it doesn't exclusively take place at night. It regularly interferes when I'm working. The reason why I'm wanting a SOLUTION to this, is because it is progressively becoming worse. I've had it for a year, and the more I wait the worse it gets. I`ve been to the doctor, and they didn`t say shit except for "Oh, go get some massage therapy." Who the fuck can afford massage therapy? I don't want to have fucked up spinal issues when I'm older. "Neck excersises", as you said, would be successful if I had a muscle or nerve injury.. It's my spine.
