Have you ever stopped to think that maybe teens are in these rehab centers not because that marijuana is bad for you - in fact, maybe it is because their parents are under the influence of propaganda? These parents see things like your advertisements, coupled with the negative illegal stigma it has, and before you know it their son or daughter is being forced into rehab under the premise that marijuana is addicting and deadly. If one wanted to argue about the addiction that marijuana may present, it could be countered by the mere fact that if you use it to escape problems instead of using it recreationally, then one could become psychologically dependent on the herb, but not physically. It all depends on one's mental strength. Using a drug as an escape is the same way alcoholism came up in society. As for your statement about marijuana being twice as potent as it was ten years ago: it has two flaws. Example one: let's set up a hypothetical experiment. Some guy in a lab suit measures the THC percentage of a given strain and finds it to be around 1%. Ten years later, he finds the same strain to be 2%. This is twice as much THC from the last ten years, but all in all it's only a 1% increase. This is hypothetical of course, but it goes to show how easily one could decieve the public by stretching the truth. In fact, the White House Drug Policy page states that the level of THC - 5% - hasn't noticeably differed in the past three decades. Example two: the percentages really don't add up. One "study" may say that its 3x, 4x, or 5x as strong as 10, 15 or 20 years ago. Even if this is true, it is definitely not something you all could use to scare the public with. In fact, sites of your kind love to parade around saying that marijuana is addicting basing your statements on the assumption that an individual needs more and more of the substance to get "high" (the slow and gradual buildup of a tolerance can be stopped and reversed by a two week tolerance break). However, you also say that marijuana gets more and more potent by the decade. Anybody with a brain can make the connection and see that these two statements just don't add up. Hope to hear back. While the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign and this Web site cover all drugs, there is a particular emphasis on teen marijuana usage because the statistics associated with it are troubling. More teens are in treatment for marijuana dependence than for all other illicit drugs combined. Teens are beginning to smoke marijuana at a younger age and weed is twice as potent as it was a decade ago. The drug has changed so the information and awareness around marijuana must keep up. The part about teens in rehab.... Actually most are there because the judge will commonly offer two options: rehab or jail. Jail time will be twice as long, and more detrimental to your "record". Also, I'd say that the herb is addicting the same way roller coasters/television/music/m&m's are addicting. Edit: ESPECIALLY addicting since you've only recently discovered it.* If you discovered music today, wouldn't it just blow your fucking mind out of the water? The answer to that question is yes. *btw, you kinda should be denied weed at one point i.e. the early stages of your life. You know...don't want to risk screwing something up with your brain *****.
"shiggles". that's interesting. never heard it before. I hate automated responses like that. If it's not followed up by a decent human response sometime soon, assume they know you're right and just don't want to admit it. >:c
lol i message em same exact response i bet they j ust send out generic emails to anyone who questions em
probably the funniest thing that occurs to me is that all these bull shit anti weed commercials is funded by who...oh yeah the alcohol and tobacco companies of America. hey kids weeds bad but come have a butt with me, the leading killer in the u.s. or hey fuck smoking pot lets go get drunk and beat the shit out of someone who looks at me the wrong way. all this anti weed baby back bullshit is all for profitable reasons in my opinion.
That is one of the most hilarious emails I have seen, but it is ovbiously computered bullshit. We will take your comment into consideration
yeah, like a 19 year old kid is gonna change their minds. ha. worth a shot though, its a good little personal victory knowing that the site with "all the answers" sends out generic emails when presented with facts.
I think you were communicating with a computer the whole time, I wouldn't think they would have the time or the resources to have a representative emailing everyone who sends in a comment
