connect can filter to fan?

  1. Can someone tell me what I need to connect my can carbon filter directly to my vortex in-line fan? Is there some kind of connector or tie that I need other than the flange that I got with the filter?

  2. you need some ducting that fits the size of the flange. 4", 6" 8" and up is standard. You'll need some duct tape or aluminum tape or those metal straps.

  3. I see how I could connect them with duct between them... is their any way to connect them directly to each other?

If I connect them with duct, how do you guys hang the filter? There's no hooks or anything on the filter...

  4. i guess you could connect them directly.. if i'm not mistaken they're both male connectors so you may have to buy a male/female adapter.
as far as hanging the filter basically you can mount it to the ceiling with hooks and chain the filter to that.. or they make stands for them as well.

    hope that helps.. good luck
