Congratulations with a good election!

  1. Now, I'm not a big Obama supporter, and through this entire US presidential election as an outsider I've kept my mouth shut. Not my business.

That said, whoever runs America do have an impact on the world. On many levels. And overall, I think the better candidate won. That said, I think there were issues especially on foreign policy where Romney was clearer and better. But with regards to the most important issue, US deficit and debt, Obama gave a greater level of confidence. Obama have gone through the levels from a nobody to the elite class. Romney have always been a part of the elite class.

It matters. It gives a non-academic perspective upon how to cure the ills of society. The danger of course when searching for solutions, is that it may become idealistic rather than realistic. But then again, experience is better than mere theories.

How it all pans out is very open, and Obama still have to struggle with a predominantly Republican congress. Which is good. Checks and balances. It moderates leadership, ensuring no-one get the steamroller treatment. At least not without good debate first and some pro-quid-pro treatment.

With Obama the rest of the world get some based in reality policy we can understand if not quite condone from time to time. With Romney we'd get another bout of irrational religious stupidity to deal with. Agree or disagree, from topic to topic, I'd rather argue the politics of a pragmatic secularist like Obama than the obscure religious romantic ideas of a sectarian like Romney.

But I'd like to reiterate; at least in regards to foreign policy, Romney would be the better choice. He would be principled, not waffling and opportunist.

  2. Not that I'm a fan of either men but you really think Obama has a decent track record that is our current American economy and too boot you'd think some Harvard law professor is better equipped than Romney to handle said economy?

Ugh... what's the US debt up to? I lost count at 16 trillion. To give you an idea of how much a trillion is check this video where Tony Robbins compares dollars to time.

Romney wants to make more enemies to the United States by policing the world and intervening in nations particularly in the middle east. He would do the dirty work at America's peril while other countries can sit around and do nothing and remain safe. Who, in other safe nations, wouldn't like this deal?

Obama won, the American people lost. Our liberties have been stripped away by way of corrupt legislation that Obama has signed and extended, and Romney supports the same legislation.

The reason why America elects these bastards is evident in this post. Zylark, you have a more intricate and constructed views on American politics than 75% of Americans themselves. These people don't make an educated vote. Winston Churchill said that the best argument against democracy is a 5-minute conversation with the average voter. This rings true in America. (Not that I'm against democracy or anything)

  4. I agree, definitely fail elections.

  5. You think Obama was better on fiscal policy? What?

That was the one thing Romney destroyed him on...

  6. I'm glad Obama won so if shit hits the fan no one is going to blame "free market policies" even though Romney wouldn't have done shit else either...
