Is this bulb enough for one plant? TCP SpringLight 68-Watt (300W) Soft White Household CFL Light Bulb (1-Pack) - 28968RP at The Home Depot I'm under the impression that a general rule is 100w per plant. I'm confoosed
Pretty sure it's 68 watts lol which the smaller or equivalent is the one you pay attention to. In any case if your growing one plant get more less powerful bulbs atleast when you flower so you can concentrate where needed on flowering/bud sites. For veg just get 2 of them call it good.
Would you recommend about two or three 46W for the whole grow? I understand soft white and daylight bulbs should be used for veg and flowering, but do you know first hand anyone who's used, soft white for ex, during the whole grow and been successful?
3 46 for veg would be fine, I'd get 4 26 for flower if you are planning on 1 plant. As far as one bulb type yeah you could, but your growth on you plant may be a bit pitiful.
Let me clear the confusion -- pay no attention at all to the "equivalent" watts (which will be the bigger number), only pay attention to the actual watts (which will be the smaller number). The idea of "equivalent" watts means nothing at all for growing, it's just a way that the bulb makers try to help consumers understand what wattage incandescent bulb that CFL is supposed to replace. So a 23w CFL that is marketed as 100 "equivalent" watts has about the same light output as an old 100w incandescent bulb, but obviously the CFL is saving a lot of energy by using fewer watts to produce that same light. That's why CFLs are being sold in the first place, as energy-saving incandescent replacements. But MJ growers never did compare anything to household incandescent bulbs, so completely ignore the "equivalent" watts.
