Concidering becoming a botanist?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by B1C, Feb 6, 2011.

  1. I was really concidering becoming a botanist. Not nessisary just to grow mad weed plants. Well i mean that would be an upside of the whole deal. But i mean plants are really cool, i think the way they grow and keep themselves alive with just the power of sunlight is cool. Maaybe im not Pure serious about thsi. But right now it sounds like a mad awesome idea.. what do you guys think? Is it worth it? Woudl i basically be runnign a flower company..cause that woudlnt be SO great but yanno.

  2. Instead of trying to be technical, just say "considering becoming a grow Oper?"

Your growing weed, not a flower field.

  3. what do you mean your "considering becoming a botanist"? are you thinking of going to school for botany? because if this is the case and your sole/primary interest is in weed then you are opening yourself up to a world of hurt. or are you just going to grow a pot plant and declare yourself a botanist...or are you going to apply for a job and claim to be one.....whats the deal here?...because just so you know being a botanist has absolutely nothing to do with running a flower company.

  4. Botany is a dead field. You could single-handedly revive it. Plants are amazing things, and we really dont know enough about them. I've often thought about studying them. :D

I say go for it, if you really want to! There's billions of discoveries to be made. Maybe yours is calling. :smoke:

  5. Go for it bro. I look after my plants the same way i do my dog.

  6. no, i know its not just weed.
i just like plants, i find them facinating as people are. They are living creatures. Im just not sure what to study once im fully done high school, and this is something that actully intrests me.

I just dont fully know what they do you know? I figured id ask for advice here.

  7. I would love a degree in botany...

  8. me too but i dont see how i could single handedly make money off botany

it would be cool cause i would be aweosme with plants and such but i dont see how money can be made just by growing plants? What could i do with that?

  9. Botany is an amazing thing. I mean plants are such a huge part of our life without even realizing it. Id go for it, maybe youll be the guy to cure aids all naturally...

  10. why not just grow weed and not be a botanist...

  11. like i said, im intrested in growing weed and all but there must be something more maybe this is just a bad idea, but man it sounds like there could be some real potential tinkering with plants all the time. You guys dont realize how big of a deal plants really are man

  12. I agree. Being a botanist would take patience, because we all know plants don't grow over night(thats for you to figure out, and us to benefit from:hello:) Botany is pretty crazy, and if your smart enough you could really do something with it. I look forward to seeing where you take this.

  13. Try asking Monsanto if there's any money in botany... :D

  14. I can tell you one thing, watch BBC Life - Plants
    Plants are amazing..

  15. A botanist....lol

I'm sure we know exactly where this type of botany is heading

  16. See? I have no idea what the hell a botanist even is to be honest. It just sounded right, and it seems instresting to me. I mean i know a lot about growing weed and shit already so i cant see how it could be any different to learn more and get more in depth about other plants.. but really. I cant see how i could make money seriously doing this. So you know :hello:

  17. Then why did you make this thread? Im so confused...

  18. Considering a degree in botany is def a step in the right direction.( Much better than wanting to be a CEO in my opinion) However, it is a field that has and continues to be suppressed and controlled through misinformation campaigns. There are many different "types" of botanists. Just keep a clear head about you and put your heart in the right place and you can do good for this world. Just beware that in traditional schooling for "plant science" they will add a lot of unneeded things that you will have to get through to pursue that path ex; memorizing a bunch of useless terms in latin that really have nothing to do with your education on how a plant works and as a last note. Even if you can't or do not end up going to school for being a professional botanist it does not mean you have to give up on your dream of helping people through plants. Plants combined with a person with pure/good intent can do a lot for this world. I myself have such ambitions.

  19. I just got my masters with a minor in botany and alchemy. My masters is in child development. personally, don't expect to make a lot of money with a botany degree. Also, there are not a lot of job oppertunities. I would like to use it as s means of starting my own business someday.

  20. well ... then wouldn't it be a great start to pick up a book on botany and read it?? And botany is a branch of biology and apart from sounding "cool" it goes a lot deeper than that.... and sorry but knowing how to grow weed doesn't give you a headstart in the study of that field..... thank fuck we are developing creatures:D
