Concert Stories

Enjoy Furthur tonight...I saw them last week and they were fantastic. The first set blew me away.

 

I've seen alot of bands.. but last year Blazed and Confused tour was awesome!

stephen marley, snoop, slightly stoopid... it was amazing...

during snoop, the whole place had thousands of people blazing at once, the smoke was so thick you couldnt see other parts of the venue! lol

During slightly, people continued to blaze, but the amount of fall down drunk girls just walking around and collapsing everywhere was quite the buzz kill when your trying to roll a blunt and some girls getting carried away by the cops in the row in front of you..

 

I got one..not really a concert but a music thing. It was a techno show. Yes..dice went to a techno thing.

I don't remember who was playing..I went with 3 other guys and 2 girls and only 1 guy was actually into techno. I mainly just went because it was free (dude had 3 passes) and I could drink there without bein carded..


But man...those fools know how to party. To start it off I drank a couple beers and just chilled at our table. Then..I went to the bathroom and they got a guy in there who was given out free blackNmilds..so they were already on my good side..

Then the techno dude we was with met up with some people there...who I found out had X. He was just given the shit away..only me and 1 other guy accepted. Since he had so much he gave us 3 each. Fuck yea I popped em.

Kinda made our way to the middle where they had this runway like stage..like it was the main stage and it had a runway comming out into the dance floor. Everyone was climbin up...had maybe 80-120 people on it. We were just doin our shit up there till one of the middle parts of the runway collapsed..everyone jumps off.. people get up and just keep partyin. They took it down.

One of the funnest times I've had. And I don't like techno...but when your buzzin like that and there's that energy flowin through the crowd..shits just insane.



Edit: Oh and they were given away free rillos...every person got like 4-5 boxes from some FIIINE bitches. And since only 2 of us smoked...I wound up with about 10+ rillos. I'm always down for that again...them techno geeks (no disrespect) know how to party.

 

I have quite a few of these, but theyre pretty much all at metal shows. Im gonna have to say the best line up I have seen was Warbringer, Hexen, Vektor, Hellcommand, Exmortus, and Bonded by Blood.

It was at this little ass venue in Chino that was like in a backyard they basically made a little indoor venue, the show was pure insanity and the fool that owned the house or whatever was grilling dank ass carne Asada. Also after the show I took bong rips with the Warbringer dude and the dude from Witchaven.

I miss that venue

Acid Mothers Temple is still the best. absolutely no question in my mind.

 

I've been to a lot of shows, mostly rock or metal shows.
I'd have to say the most notable memory was when we went to Denver to see Dredg.

You see, my wife and I are from the Chicago area and we often go to Colorado to visit my wifes family. We flew to Denver and met her cousin and we were going to see Dredg. Well, we always forget to take it easy on the drinking for the first few days because our bodies aren't used to the altitude (don't let people trick you into believing the altitude factor is a myth, it definitely affects your drinking).

So, we are at the hotel and have a couple small drinks before we head to the Bluebird Theater. We get their and the wife and I both grab our drinks and we both were drinking doubles. After a few we are getting pretty buzzed, I snuck off to the bathroom to smoke a J. The alcohol was hitting me pretty hard as I went into the bathroom but I kept smoking.

When I got back out there I had to sit down...I was suddenly very fucked up and the drinking/smoking was givng me the spins. Next thing I know, my wife and her cousin say we have to go because my wife puked (right behind a group of people). My wife has probably only puked about 3-4 times from puking so this is unusual for her and we didn't drink nearly as much as we usually do.

When we go outside the alcohol is hitting me so hard I pass out in the small alleyway next to the venue. I still can't believe it. Apparently, (I don't really remember this) the venue didn't want to be responsible for my state so the security guard came and ripped off my armband.

On, our way back to the hotel the cab driver is stopping every block to let me puke, haha. Embarrassing as hell. The next day I was still puking like crazy. I am never "that guy" but that altitude really affected us a lot that night. Luckily we caught most of Dredg's set so it wasn't a waste.

i was at that same show im pretty sure at the comcast center...but if u have ever been there before u would know that, that show was pretty normal for a show there...like seriously at that venue anything goes...but i was in the front pit for that show so i was really focusing on the band and not the crowd (except when snoop told everyone to get their lighters out...never seen so many fucking lighters at a show)


but on topic ive been to a bunch of shows in the last couple years so ill try to narrow it down...

one thing to say is that at the comcast center in mass me and my friends sneak into that shit all the time cuz we live really close to it...pretty easy to do and theres always really good bands there

but heres a story...
at slightly stoopid, 2 years in a row at the same small club type venue ive seen people OD literally right in front of me...like fall to the floor and start convulsing up and down like crazy shit

and my most recent one...
went to a rebelution concert with SOJA last wednesday at a venue that evidently is not cool with people smokin weed in there...i knew it before but i smoked in there anyways...i figured im at a reggae concert and there not gonna bust people for smokinnat a fucking reggae show...but i was wrong...right when rebelution came out me and my friends sparked a blunt, got halfway thru and security came up and grabbed me and my friend and kicked us out...i legit saw like 4 minutes of the band i paid to see...on a side note its sooo irresponsible on the bands part to play at a shitty venue where they know their fans will smoke weed and get kicked out of it...i will never see that band again and never go to that shit ass venue ever again (House of blues Boston...dont go there if u wanna smoke)

 

nah, man we were drinking what we normally drink rum (I was drinking Captain, wifey was drinking Malibu). The difference in elevation just got to us.

 

I was at the fairfax show last Saturday. As for stories:

I went to my first music festival - Bonnaroo 06 I think. One night my friend decided try MDMA (I decided against it) and we were enjoying the Superjam (Trey, The Duo, Phil Lesh I think) and this dude whips his dick out and starts pissing on her leg. Now this girl is kind of a neat freak and would usually freak out and start crying if something like this happened, but I guess she was just in a great mood from the molly and just gave him a weird look and kept dancing.

Also, I saw They Might Be Giants a few years ago and got 2nd row seats in this theater they were playing. They come on and first thing they said was, why the hell are you all sitting back there, get your asses up to the stage. So we all rush up to the stage and me and my friend get up very close. After a song or two John holds his guitar out over our heads and tells us to play his guitar. Everyone just clawed at the thing and I got a couple touches in. He pulls it back and says: "congratuations on composing the most horrific song man has ever heard"

 

OMG, there are so many.

Um, year before last I went to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Anyway, I'm sitting in some good seats, because I like Petty. I have a fatty rolled up, and I light up. I'm there with two girls, so I feel like the luckiest guy in the world.

Anyway, I notice the couple looking at me, and the girls. Then the dude next to mean leans over, he has got to be 65, says, "Aren't you a little young to be at a Tom Petty concert?"

I was like what? Anyway, I was 29 when I went to that show. It was my 6TH TOM PETTY CONCERT. I was shocked, so I told him it was my 6th, and he said this one was his first.

Anyway, we started shooting the shit. He pulled out some awesome homegrown (the guy owns a nursery), and we started sharing.

Anyway, it was a great night, got stoned, had a story to tell.

I've got more, dirtier stories from years back, but I'll save those for later.

 

I was at a Snoop concert one time with my mom and her boyfriend of all people. We were walking along checking out all of the vendors and such when some dumbass goes to pull out his wallet and drops a fat bag of buds without even noticing. My mom's boyfriend immediately walks up behind the guy and snatches the bag, then circles back around to us.

I didn't smoke at the time but I can safely say my mom and her boyfriend got blazed while watching Snoop Dog.

 

Mostly the only concerts i've been to are metal shows. Pretty much the only thing memorable is when Dave Mustaine (lead singer of Megadeth) punched a dude on stage after he tried to grab his nuts. Then, later in the same show, someone threw a shoe at him and they stopped playing for half an hour.

 

That's funny because I went to a Tom Petty concert with my girlfriend a few years ago and we overheard the people behind us complaining that there were so many young people there and that they couldn't possibly be Petty fans and we were probably just there for the opener (Trey Anastasio). My girlfriend (drunk at the time) turns around and tells them she's been a fan since she was a kid. They didn't believe her and tried to stump her with questions about the band, which she schooled them because she is wayyy to into him.
